It's definitely a sensible and marketable fight for both men. Good news for Danny Green to get another big name, he's hugely marketable right now.
I would be pleasantly surprised if Hopkins took the fight.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
It's the complete opposite mate, Danny Green whilst a capable and tough fighter is not the same level as a Chad Dawson, David Haye, or even maybe Lucian Bute.
But in his own country he's FAR FAR better known than Dawson, Bute and even Haye are in theirs.
Green is a household name in Australia and is now famous internationally for destroying Roy Jones in a round. That kind of result gets you more exposure amongst casual fans than winning a world title against the best opposition.
Very few fighters are known outside of hardcore boxing circles, Jones Jr was obviously one of them, a legend of the sport and Green destroyed him.
Green is massive in Australia, and a fight there with Hopkins will maybe rival the biggest British domestic fights like Calzaghe Lacy, Calzaghe Kessler and Hatton's big home fights in terms of salesl
HBO told Hopkins outright they wern't interested in a fight with Dawson, or at least in paying him what he wanted, but as Hopkins as said, fighting in Australia, there is no American network to deal with, and he fights on his own terms, and will make much more money than he would against pretty much anybody else.
It's a very sensible fight for Hopkins to take and the risk/reward is far better than against any other opponent pretty much, Bute, Dawson, Haye etc.
Is that really true? Honest question. And if so, is it just a result of his KO of Jones? Because if that's the case, I have a hard time believing Green is more popular in Aus. than Haye is in England, but I really have no idea.
It's great to see Green get a big fight though, he certainly earned it by stopping Jones. I didn't think Hopkins looked very good in his last fight and Green has some serious power behind his shots, so a Hopkins victory is not a foregone conclusion, though I do think Green's style is made for Hopkins to expoit.
Yeah it'll sell over here.
Marketing national pride to unknowing punters is like taking candy from kids.
Ten points to all those who get away with it.
Danny Green is a household name over here and it would sell. Id go for sure.
Anyone that thinks boxers care more about legacy than MONEY need to watch that. Listen to old Hop
Why the hell would he fight Dawson for peanuts, or Adamek for $2million when Green's people are talking about $6/7million.
Legacy over money
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Was the Jones v Green fight PPV? If it was then that may impact on him being a household name.

I'd be surprised if Hopkins went over to Aus for this fight. Didn't he say that the Jones fight was stopped to early which was why he never went to Europe Maybe someone just told him Aus wasn't Europe.
Good fight im glad its happening, i like many others didn't think Bernard Hopkins looked that good in his last fight. But again he probably struggled to get motivated because it was for peanuts and it was against a nobody.
Unless Bernard Hopkins becomes old over night, he should give Danny Green a boxing lesson. Much like Anthony Mundine did to Danny Green. I think Danny Green is a good fighter but again, i question whether he really is world class.
He's got some pop and is a good come forward fighter, but i just see a good boxer making him look pretty mediocre and as i said much like Anthony Mundine did.
But its still a good fight and anything can happen in boxing, and it truly would be a cinderella story for Danny Green if he pulled it off.

Would be a good fight and he would give Hopkins probs at times I am sure but I hope they do not think they will come into the fight and do to Bernard what Danny managed to do to Jones...
I am not saying that to down grade Green or his win over Jones but guys and their teams tend to over rate wins like that...I mean you never know he could beat Hopkins but certainly in that fashion
Interesting to see how it plays out for sure
