    Default Hopkins/Green off

Bernard Hopkins-Danny Green bout evaporates over money - ESPN

apparently Hopkins wants a 60/40 split, and Green wont settle for any less than 50/50, i don't think Hopkins went 50/50 with Pavlik who IMO is the bigger name and now Green thinks he's a big enough draw to be demanding a 50/50 split just cause he ko'd an old shot Jones, even at 60/40 it'd be the most money Green has ever made

I don't mind too much. It's not a fight that interests me really, I would still much rather see Jones Jr/Hopkins 2.

I know that isn't a popular thing to say, but I think Jones might be alright against an old Hopkins.

i don't really fancy either fight, i'd rather see Hopkins/Adamek at Cruiserweight or Hopkins/Dawson at Lightheavy

Yes, both of those would be very nice too. Hopkins has to do something after this warm up, so I'm very interested to see where he goes.

hell even a fight against Bute would be interesting, and if Bute won it'd make a fight between him and the winner of the Super 6 tourney that much more intriguing

That would be interesting...I was wondering why Bute wasn't in the super 6..

Jones just needs to stop whoreing himself and his legacy now

I think Green's 50/50 demands might be reasonable considering he's the main draw in Australia, where the fight will be taking place. I'd wager it earns a lot more coin there than in the U.S.

As I'm not a big Green fan I am pretty unbias but I'll say that if the fight takes place in Australia then Green IS a big enough draw to warrant a 50/50 split... Fact.

well even though it was scheduled to be in Australia i really doubt that it would end up being there due to Hopkins, it'd probably end up in MSG or Atlantic City, but if it did happen in Australia well then obviously Green would be a big draw, but again i really doubt B-Hop would go down under lol

Serzly who does Danny Green think he is? Does he have any idea that outside of Australia on the world boxing stage he is still a fringe contender?

I do agree though that if the fight was held here is Aus he's the draw but maybe 45/55 split still for B-Hop if he really wants to get the guy out here.

Isn't boxing less popular in Australia then even America? Either way, NO FCKING WAY. Australia, America, Pluto, it doesn't matter where the fight is Hopkins is giving him a shot, not the other way around.

I was under the impression that boxing was more popular in Australia than in America or the UK... of course I have nothing to base this on. I just always got that impression.

It's not the first time that Hopkins make unreasonable demands, he wanted to give Adamak a famine like 500 000 to fight him and to bank all the rest. I understand that the old man is on his last miles and wants a huge check to say farewell but it's not a reason to attempt a serious bank robbery.

agree especially in the Adamek fight, seeing how Adamek has a pretty good following himself, especially in Jersey where i think the fight would be huge
