Default Malinaggi: Khan may be on steroids because Roach is his trainer

Malignaggi: Khan/Steroids Link Has Crossed My Mind - Boxing News

Paulie is saying that the thought crossed his mind because Khan is from the same stable as Manny, plus he points out that Roach trained James Toney who was dirty, therefore he comes to the conclusion that Khan may be dirty or may be not, but the thought crosses his mind.

I know people are going to kill Malignaggi for this but I can understand Malignaggi saying it crosses his mind. Its natural to. Roach stood up for James Toney the first time he tested dirty claiming it was administered by his doctor. Then James Toney tested dirty again. Add the Pacquiao situation and now with Khan being Roach's latest high projected project its just natural to at least wonder. And PEDs are not minimal in boxing. But without the proper testing we'll never get close to catching the bulk of the cheaters or even deter potential cheaters.

Yeah, I think with or without PEDs Khan is too much for Malignaggi. Khan will not be outboxed by many and Malignaggi is not capable of hurting...anyone.

Well, it had crossed my mind as well. The Roach association doesn't really help shake those suspicions away.

You have to hand to it Paulie, if his boxing skills could pack as much punch as his mouth, there wouldnt be any argument of who is the pound for pound number 1. He gets more column 'inches' than John Holmes's ex-wife.

Some people say boxing is a matter of life or death, it's not, it's far more important than that.

If Khan needs to take steroids to beat Malignaggi (doubt it), fuck it. Take steroids.

Way to make a hasted generalization, I think he just tries to find a justification in case he loses or to play mind games.

If it crosses his mind then fine...but keep your thoughts to yourself. You don't have to say everything that pops into your head dude. Paulie is laying the ground work for when he loses. Making sure he has an excuse. I hope Kahn puts this guy on his ass. Paulie is going to have to accept the fact that he is becoming (or already may be) a gate keeper.

They asked him IF it had crossed his mind, he was just answering a question.
He even says he thinks he's not on anything.

I was just about to agree that Paulie should keep his thoughts to himself but if he said that in response to a question, then I'm letting him off the hook. Now go and fight .....

Bottomline is Paulie doesn't make excuses, when he loses he gives credit to the other fighters end of story. He is a no bs kinda guy and I like that about him. Straight talk...something people should take a lesson
McGirt recalling the minute break between the 9th round of the Ward fight "He said, 'Help me stand up and I'll finish the fight.'"

Exactly, he said nothing too controversial and was stating his opinion in response to a question. All this "his mouth is too big" stuff is nonsense. Paulie says it how it is and it's refreshing to have that in boxing where too many fighters wouldn't say boo to a goose.
