I watch plenty of MMA and know enuf about it to realise that even the best MMA strikers would be sub par boxers. What would Dos Santos do in stand up to KO Wlad before Wlad hit him?

LOL maybe me and you are having different conversations. This conversation was NEVER about MMA strikers being BOXERS, but yet you keep bringing that up. For the LAST time striking in MMA is MUCH different from boxing. In boxing all you can do is throw punches. Striking in MMA is so much more. In my opinion if a Klits were in a MMA match with carwin or JDS they would get pushed against the cage tied up in a clinch and pounded out.

Things you can't to in boxing. You can't hold someone's arms controlling them in boxing. Does it happen in boxing yes sometimes before being immediately broken up by the refs. In MMA is perfectly legal. Can you throw elbows while in the clinch in boxing? NO. Can you throw kicks in boxing? No! Yes you can push your opponant up against the ropes in boxing but there is alot of wiggle room against the ropes. The cage is ungiving. You get pushed up against the cage in MMA you're stuck especially if you are facing someone who really knows how to use that such as Randy Couture.

Please get off the whole MMA fighters would make sub par boxers kick EVERYONE knows that but that was never the subject of this conversation. Striking in MMA is VASTLY different from striking in MMA which is why I believe the KLITS could get KO'd in MMA.
Yes but chances are Carwin or Dos santos or whoever would get clobbered as they tried to get inside to wrestle. Wlad is great in the clinches and throwing elbows is not hard to learn. If u put Wlad in with any MMA fighter and the rule was that there could be no take downs then i'd back Wlad 9 times outta 10. Saying that Carwin or Dos Santos would easily KO Wlad in that situation is ridiculous.

Depends on who they fought as to how far they would go.

If a thinker went for the knee that had the weight on it or stomped out the top of their foot; their guard wouldnt be quite so tight anymore and limping around isnt conducive to correct footwork for boxing.

    I can explain it.

The conversation goes both ways. MMA guys are written off when talking pure boxing matches so of course boxers will be written off when it comes to MMA. I love both sports but I just don't think there is much crossover room for either. Unless a boxer has a background in some other martial art discipline I just don't see them fairing well in MMA. Boxing involves one thing punching the other person and not getting hit. MMA is so much more to it than that.
See I think everyone understands that MMA involves more aspects then boxing. However, everyone has a base style. There are guys who have used pure boxing to win fights. BJ Penn beating Sherk, he just outboxed the shit out of him. Lyoto Machida seems to have a remarkable effective standup that is based in karate. It's possible that the Klitschko's could beat every fighter in MMA and of course the opposite is true too but I don't know why they would be written off so quick.

I understand that but in MMA you have options. Take a fighter like BJ. He knew going into the fight with Sherk he would have the biggest advantage by keeping the fight standing so yes he used his boxing and take down defense to win the fight. Boxing isn't BJ's base nor is it Lyoto's they just keep the fight were they feel they have the advantage. So the same would be said for someone who fights the klits or any boxer turned MMA fighter. They know they would have the advantage on the ground so they would take them down and keep the fight there.

I'm not saying a boxer would have no chance in MMA everyone who steps in the cage has a chance to win but I just don't think they would have continued success.

They could just round out there skills or if you got a guy like Mayweather with that fast of feet he could be impossible to take down before it's lights out. I think it's viable, BJ may have wanted to stand but Sherk was completely incapable of taking him down it seemed like.
