Default Khan still isnt listed to be shown in the UK

Unbelievable when you think the fight is only 6weeks away. Considering the fact that whoever wins the rights will no doubt be showing mitchells world title fight at upton park its kinda bizzare nobody has bought the rights yet.

Anyone have a clue as to whats going on??

They are probably waiting for the Haye fight to be over before announcing it.

Is the Mitchel fight on the same night? Didn't know that. Has the potential to be a good night of boxing.

Kevin Mitchell vs Michael Katsidis will be a classic.

Amir Khan vs Paulie Malignaggi will be Paulie Malignaggi, feeling the size and strength of Amir Khan, then going into a defensive shell ducking below the waist ETC, just like he did with Ricky Hatton.

I think Khan vs Malignaggi will be a great fight. Paulie seems to be fighting much better recently after a disappointing slump in his career. Should be a tough test for Amir, although I expect him to come through it.

I don't think so Bilbo, im not discrediting Amir Khan for taking this fight. The fight makes sense Paulie Malignaggi isn't a big puncher, but he's a good enough fighter with a name in the USA, so its good exposure for Amir Khan.

But i just dislike Paulie Malignaggi, i think he's getting overrated. Because of his performances vs Juan Diaz, he was only able to stand in the pocket against Juan Diaz. Because Juan Diaz isn't a big puncher especially at Jr Welterweight, where Juan Diaz isn't at his best. Plus i think he's seen better days.

Outside of that Paulie Malignaggi just isn't impressive to me, and i just can't get the Ricky Hatton fight out of my mind. Where he totally went into a defensive shell, as soon as he felt the power of Ricky Hatton.

That really was a disappointing performance from Paulie Malignaggi, in the biggest fight of his career IMO.

That's not to say i won't give Amir Khan credit, i will give him credit. Paulie Malignaggi isn't a bad fighter. And its a good step up for Amir Khan.

But i can see Amir Khan being quite dominant here. He's faster, bigger, stronger, fresher, ETC. He seems to have all the advantages IMO, and i really see a good dominant win for Amir Khan, like 117-111 type win.

I bet you Sky has it and it will be a double header PPV rip off.

I wish it would be on ITV but doubt it.

The fights with Juan Diaz weren't at light welter, they were catchweight fights with Paulie contracted to come in at 138.

Paulie has only lost to elite world champion fighters in Cotto and Hatton which means he's a great opponent for Amir. Amir has only just won a belt and had a single defence, this is still a big step up in skills and class for him even if he's not a puncher.

If Amir dominates as you feel he should then it absolutely will affirm he is ready to break into the world class as only Hatton has ever dominated him before, and he was considered the undisputed light welterweight king for a good few years as well as a p4p star.

Wow, so this fight between Khan-Paulie may be on PPV? Fuk that shit. Hell they shouldn't even be fighting on a premium cable network like HBO. These 2 should be going at it on ESPN's friday night fights.

Calzaghe is right about 1 thing, Khan is a manufactured star.

Its HBO because of malignaggi, dont buy into that shit that america is already hot for khan, The second he gets off that plane he is just another foreigner making his way in the business.

If sky manage to get this and the mitchell-katsidis card its more than worthy of PPV over here, people will pay a lot of money to see 2 world title fights in one nght

I agree that Khan shouldn't be a pay-per-view attraction in a fight against Paulie. In the UK, different to the US, it's only ever been the biggest fights that have been PPV, and this fight is not a worthy headliner for a PPV, in the same way that Khan v Salita shouldn't have been at the top of a PPV bill.

If they are planning a joint PPV with the Mitchell fight in there as well, I just hope they don't push the Mitchell fight back to silly o clock to suit the timing of Khan's fight and mean there's not too long a gap, because Mitchell's recent efforts deserve him being the star attraction in what should be a sensational fight.

I posted that ITV were in prime posistion to take the fight as the Khan/Warren coonection on the ppv could be a problem, I really hope it's on Itv but I can't see it as it;s in the States and Itv wont buy this fight if it's airing early hours

No they wont mate, im 99% certain this is just the newly formed team khan holding sky to ransom to see how much they can actually get until they sign the contracts.

If khan is succesful in a big way may 15th this stand off will never be an issue again, khan will be able to attract a respectable amount of money for a fight stateside and the pittence offered domestically wont even be an issue.

This is also evidenced by Amir Khan's US debut against American Paulie Malignaggi proving a hard sell to British TV. The New York bout takes place in the early hours of the morning here on Sunday 16 May and so far the only likely takers are ITV, who may show it live on ITV4. Khan's new backers, Golden Boy, are so keen for him to be seen by a British audience that we hear ITV have been offered the fight for nothing.
