Martirosyan vs Greene: Done Deal For Cotto-Foreman - Boxing News

BoxingScene.com was advised by Top Rank's VP of Operations, Carl Morretti, that a deal has been finalized to pit Vanes Martirosyan (27-0, 17KOs) against Joe Greene (22-0, 14KOs) in a very interesting clash of undefeated junior middleweights.

The fight will land in the co-feature slot to the upcoming Miguel Cotto-Yuri Foreman event on June 5 at New York's Yankee Stadium. Martirosyan-Greene will be the televised opener on HBO. Someone's "0" will have to go.

This is what we need more of.Green has seemed to slow,less visible lately.Remember he was talked about for a Martinez fight a while ago.Lean towards Martirosyan ,decent straight hitter and could keep it smart over distance.Needs to tighten up that uppercut though I think.Solid fight all around.

Greene's seemingly totally fallen off the radar lately but maybe that's not such a bad thing. Not a bad fight. Never been blown away by Greene but even less so with Vanes so I'll favor him here.

Joe Greene... Bloody hell. To be honest, that's a name that rings a bell.... Wasn't there a bit of a fuss about him, some time ago

So anyway, there's me thinking this is a guy who is at the bottom of a pit or at the end of his career but it turns out he's an undefeated 24 year old!
