I hope Cotto beats the hell out of him. Why? The very word Israel upsets me these days. It will be funny to see Foreman dribble some teeth.

In this instance I do indeed hope he loses. Am I familar with his character? It's irrelevant, right now he is representing a terrorist state. I cannot and will not suport that. I hope Cotto busts him up. Simple as. The very flag upsets me. Israel brought it upon itself.
...Well Miles, we're al entitled to our opinions but as we learned from Schmeling/Louis sometimes political views held by fighters are not as cut and dry as it may look from the outside.

Suit yourself.
This is a boxing message board. I wonder does it also function as a political message board? Isn't there another section of this site where you can vent your political frustration? If there isn't, maybe there should be. I believe it's inappropriate in the context of a boxing message board. It makes sense in a political message board because people can pick and choose what threads they open, but when I open a boxing thread about Floyd Mayweather I don't want to read about the hate of black people. Likewise, when I open a thread about the Cotto-Foreman fight, I don't want to discuss the current geopolitcal situation in the middleeast. If condoned, I think it risks alienating posters like myself who come to this board to discuss boxing, not politics.
It could just be me though. I guess making statements about a fighter's nationality as the reason I want him to be physically injured just seems a little out of line to me. I can't imagine I personally would ever do it.

Hmmm... Well then you missed the entire point I intended to make. The point was that although outwardly Schmeling was seen as the "Nazi" conquerer of the weak American when he had his first fight with Joe Louis, he was, in fact not a supporter of the Nazi party.
My point was one can not tell ones views simply by being geographically affiliated with them.

I agree with everything Rantcatrat posted. The main board is for talking about boxing, not for making political statements. The posts have been moved to this thread.

Hmm I think Miles is losing it, I hope he's not the next Derick Bird
Also this kind of hate is so counter productive to any argument you have to make. I mean yesterday you said you wish you had beaten up the last Jew you met in Korea. Now you want this Jewish man to get knocked out and beaten brutally, all because of their mistreatment of those who bomb them?
How can you campaign against violence and hate by spewing violence and hate?
Come on Miles, I expected better from you.
Also have a look at the hundreds of links I provided on the other thread.

I think we should separate the man from its State, the boxer from the Israelite. If Foreman would have said things like those on the boat did deserve to die, that's all another story but at the moment, I don't think that we should sentence the boxer and to give him such hate because the country where he comes from is losing it. If I would be a boxer, I would be very pissed off if peoples would hate me solely because I am Canadian and because what my Country has done, especially if I do not endorse its ideas.
