A glimmer of hope remained that HBO and public pressure would persuade Floyd Mayweather to overcome his cowardice and sign the contract to fight Manny Pacquiao in November or May 2011.
But it’s not going to happen. Floyd Mayweather has colossal fears of getting beaten up and knocked out by Manny Pacquaio in front of the eyes of the world, and thus he will not sign the huge money contract currently in his possesion.

What sealed this conclusion for me was reading on Sunday at Boxingscene.com that Dan Goossen is already trying to make a Paul Williams vs. Pacquiao fight, if Floyd vs. Pacquiao fails to materialize.

I highly suspect Dan Goossen has inside information and already knows Floyd is not going to sign, as Dan Goossen guides the career of Williams along with Al Haymon who also advises Mayweather. Goossen and Haymon work together closely and have been associates together for years, with several fighters, including Chris Arreola.

Goossen must know the secret plans of Team Mayweather as does George Peterson, the trainer/manager of Williams, who as BoxingInsider.com readers already know, informed me last December 2, 2009 that the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight “isn’t gonna happen. Some fights aren’t meant to be made.”

Goossen, moving like a pawn, is a smart chess move for Paul Williams and Floyd Mayweather, for Al Haymon’s agenda. When the proverbial you-know-what hits the fan next week – that Chicken Mayweather is going to duck Pacquiao AGAIN – Goossen and Haymon are a pair of shrewd operators and are already prepared to deflect the storm of criticism which will be directed at Mayweather. How can they do this? By immediately applying pressure on Pacquiao to fight Paul Williams next.

Many boxing fans and U.S. media will follow the cue and will ignore the truth that Floyd is pulling off the greatest duck in boxing history, as they will then pressure Pacquiao to fight Williams next, rather than a rematch with Miguel Cotto.

It’s a smart course of action, as all frauds can be covered up, including the great fraud that is Floyd Mayweather. But the intelligent ring observer will scratch his head and wonder why Dan Goossen is not targeting Mayweather for his fighter Paul Williams? Why does Dan Goossen have zero interest in even trying to make a Williams-Mayweather, All American showdown? Dan Goossen must know that all roads lead to Floyd Mayweather, right?

Because Dan Goossen knows his place and is very likely acting on orders by Haymon and Team Mayweather who know they are going to have some work to do trying to clean up all the damages after they shamelessly duck the biggest fight in boxing history next week.

So once again, I guarantee you that Floyd Mayweather will duck Manny Pacquiao again. And if you’re keeping count, I’m a perfect three for three on guarantees – twice on Floyd ducking Pacquiao (December, February) and once on Haye dodging Wladimir Klitschko. It’s just mind-boggling how much ducking and dodging is going on at the highest level of boxing these days. Who knows. Maybe it always was this way. It’s just that the truth is more obvious now.

This is a pipedream. Pac or Floyd want nothing to do with Paul Williams. They don't even entertain the idea of a fight with PWill.

If Williams would just use his range a bit more he could very well give Pac fits. I can't see Pac's team going for it at all.

BRING IT!!! Bad blueprint for Pac is Quintana-Williams 2. Good blueprint is Quintana-Williams 1 or the Martinez fight. Start studying them coach Roach. I would let Pac blitz and unleash combos in early rounds, aim for PWill's ribs first, and start head hunting in mid rounds.

This is the second-best fight out there for Pacquiao, but I would still be very disappointed to see him fight anyone but Mayweather.

Williams is formidable, with a hearns-like height and reach advantage at welter. He doesn't quite have Hearn's power, but he makes it up with a remarkable workrate. He's not as sophisticated a boxer as Hearns, but as far as we know he has a decent chin.

But I think he needs one more impressive victory to make people clamor for a fight with Pacman or PBF, both of whom probably see a low reward to risk ratio in a Williams bout. He should try to get cotto or mosely next and make his case. Impressive vicotries against either of those guys will make him hard to avoid.

The Martinez fight was pretty close and the Cintron fight a total damp squib, so I too would like to see Williams against someone else first. He should really make a statement first. I just don't think that outside of those that really know boxing there is really any demand for Pac/Williams. You could say the same about Pac/Clottey though and Willams is far more significant that Clottey. It's a fight that could be made and I would like to see it, but it's a shame that Willams doesn't have the Cintron KO on his resume to lead us into it.

Who's he going to make a statement with at welter? Cotto, Berto, Mosley or how about Clottey. No one really believes that either PAC of PBF will step into the ring with Williams, so what are we left with making some analysis to come up with rational. There is no demand because people don't think it can happen.

Williams doesn't belong in the welterweight class even if he can make the weight. With the advantage Williams has, if he really wanted to make a statement, he'd fight guys from the super six or how about Lucian Bute. That would shed some light on the kind of fighter Williams really is. The truth is he just wants what most every fighter wants. A peace of rich and famous. I can't blame him for that. It's just is always claiming fighters at the lower class won't face him when he's doing the same damn thing in a bass ackwards way. What is that saying? "It's not the size of the dong in the fight, it's the size of fight in the dog." [it was a type o, I just left it.]

This would be a bad fight for both, the styles and height diff alone would turn it into an ugly affair...Add the speed factor and it would just be the big guy trying to catch the little guy while the little guy can't seem to land a punch on the big guy.......

It would be an almost comical scene....No this is not good for either side and I hope both sides are smart enough nto kinow nothing comes out of a match up like this but embaressment

Al haymon would never let floyd fight williams so that's done deal. And if pac woudn't fight mosely he sure as shit won't fight williams. These reports of pac being scared of anyone, or floyd being scared and ducking anyone is simply retarded. People swear internet ramblings and silly articles influence these guy's decision. Almost as silly as people protesting outside state captals like the people inside the building look out the window give a crap and change thier minds. Pac knows people want the fight floyd knows people want the fight. Old 2nd grade school yard tactics like like calling these guys scared, cheaters etc cracks me up. It's not peer pressure making any of these fights happen. There are so many buisness, managers, promoters, involved in making these fights i doubt either of two actually have much to do with it. If floyd fights person A he'll be accused of avoiding fighter B. Fight fighter B and then there's fighter C that floyd is now ducking and can't beat so on and so forth. Once again i say....let's say floyd beats pac. IF and that a big if he does then what wil be the talk of all these pac fans. Who will he be ducking then, who will he be scared of then. Why can't this just be a big fight between two great fighters.....if floyd is as crappy as pac fans claim he is then why all the hype for the fight. Fight someone worth fighting instead. Same for floyd. It was just five minutes ago it was mosely being ducked, before him margarito, hatton was the guy, oscar was the guy, today it's pac tommorow someone else...... both guys deserve to be where they are if they don't then why all the crying whether the fight happens or not....

How can you guys honestly think Paul Williams poses the biggest threat to either Pacquiao or Mayweather? Look at him against Quintana and Martinez, PAcquiao is both better and faster than both of them, not to mention he hits harder as well. If Paul had THomas Hearns' power and jab then it would be a different story, but its easy to expose him with movement.
