Default Kubrat Pulev - the heavyweight to watch?

    Kubrat Pulev - Boxer

What really got my attention is the names he fought (and defeated) in his first professional fights.
Can the world bear another heavyweight champion who is Eastern European?
Just making this thread to be able to dig it up in a couple of years and say that I was the first to notice him.

Never seen him. Have to love that activity level though. At 30 he'll need it.

    Pulev in action

    vs Danny Batchelder

    vs Matt Skelton

...he seems to stop him on a hard jab to the body

    vs Domonick Guinn

Guinn knocks him down...I think the ref was really against D in this one

    I'm not that impressed

How was that not ruled a knockdown?

Well, more fodder for the heavyweight division, he has as much chance as 99% of the division of getting a title shot, why not.............
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

He did land a sick uppercut on Batchelder though

The guy has SOME skill, but he uses a lot of dirty tricks which these refs let him get away with apparently. Open palm to the face, pushing off, headlock and continue punching, keeping an arm extended while it's not punching.....I mean lots of guys do those things, but most of them don't do it so blatantly.

Pulev is pretty good. Beat Solis in the amateurs. He has the size (6′ 4½″, 240lb) to compete with the bigger heavyweights. Seems to neglect his jab at times though. Would love to see him in with Rahman.

Overall I like him..but my favorite Heavyweight prospect is Robert Helenius - Boxer

He's fighting again soon on the same card as Pianetta and Povetkin and despite him being the least experienced he is the one with the tougher opposition.

He's been matched very tough and he looks a quality fighter.
