I don't no much about this guy, but I recently read an ariticle on him. Apparently he was a very good amateur, capturing silver in the olympics over a decade ago. He had a goodish run in the pros, but had some difficultys in his personal life and was sent to prison. Now he's out and says he has a new found focus and dedication too the game that he never had previously. Word is that he is a very good and talented fighter that should of and still can go all the way, I think he's a welterweight.Anyway I just wondered what yours guys thoughts are on him as a fighter, and can he still make some noise in a very stacked division at the age of 29. Thanks

His work ethic got to him before they found smuggling drugs in his gym equipment. He started to get pudgy around around the middle and started to fade around and be edged out in the later rounds. He naturally got one or two gift decisions (kinda like Berto) rather then the tarnishing of his record before the hype was complete.
He had good amateur skills and was a good Olympic boxer, it was hard to see what is full career would have looked like but I'm not so sure turning pro agreed with him. He wasn't looking as much a natural as he could have. The power didn't seem to be there, though he had good footwork and used angles. Unless he found the discipline in prison to train harder than before.. and not rely on talent advantages alone. I think he would have a short run. Not to mention he was around welter before... not exactly where you want to be if you're hoping for a cakewalk to a title. Thats all i remember really
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.
