He probably put that in because he was getting Rick rolled daily.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
I don't really follow. If it was a genuine conversion and you accepted Jesus for dying for your sins, technically you don't have to 'do' anything.
Salvation is a free gift. God wants everybody to be saved, but if they decide to reject Him then they must bear the consequence of their free will choose and live apart from God in the next life.
You seem bent on turning Christianity into a list of do's and do not's, which to be fair many Christian sects insist on doing as well.
But Christianity is not about works, it is precisely the opposite. God made the Old Testament laws so strict to demonstrate to his people that they were impossible to follow. They were supposed to show how futile and absurd it is to try and impress God with your works (filthy rags and garments is how the Bible describes them) and instead recognise that you need a saviour.
The Gospel message properly understood is the most amazing message in history.
A perfect God, (perfect in justice as well as goodness) created man with the gift of free will to choose good and evil. When man chose rebellion, the just penalty of which must be death God offered His only Son to take our place. This was planned from all eternity, the way a mankind could have freewill in a just universe and not be damned to death because of the wrong choices they would inevitably make.
God Himself, the creator of the universe humbled Himself enough to become one of us and be born and live amongst us, to an unmarried mother in poverty. He then allowed us to nail Him to a cross and kill Him and actually used His death as an atonement to save us!
It's the most amazing story ever told, I don't see how people cannot be moved by it.
I agree with you that religion is full of hypocrites, has been exploited for evil and many of the criticisms against it are completely justified.
But the message of the cross and the person of Jesus Christ combine to make the greatest story ever told.
That I believe it to be true is the greatest comfort to me in this world.
Straight from Jesus mouth is the stuff written in red. (I only mention that cause not everyone knows it Bilbo, I know you do mate .
This is just one hard hitting truth the Roman universal churches council forgot to omit.
Luke 11:52, Woe unto you, Lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves and them that were entering in ye hindered.
Luke:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees and lawyers when the Kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said,
The Kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say lo it is here or lo it is there, for the Kingdom of God is within you.
Anyone who teaches you that you are required to externally seek answers or for Gods Kingdom, is against you progressing towards the truth and are against God.
That would be 99.7% of organized Religions.
wow
