Depends on how he beats him. If he somehow puts a beating on Canelo and wins convincingly, he'll probably milk his belt with a title defense or two while Canelo goes back to the chalkboard and take some tuneups.. rematch will materialize soon after..

But if he barely wins in a competitive fight, an immediate rematch will most likely take place.

Cant help thinking he's gonna get battered

If he is on form like against messi then he should pull it off, let's not forget Rhodes can hit hard and Alvarez doesn't have the best defense

This kid (Canelo) is just going to be too much for Rhodes, + the fight is going to be in Mexico, in front of Alvarez's rabid fans, no way Rhodes will win there.

Rhodes has to dent the chin to win. Can he do that? Yes. Alvarez isn't exactly Margarito when it comes to the chin department. Cotto buzzed him and he had fought most of his fights at 135 and below.
