“I was working for a fellow in the barbershop…..So one morning I was shadowboxing in the mirror. So the boss walked on, he said, “Go on, sit down ! You’ll never be a fighter as long as you got a hole in your ass.” October 1970
I think it'll be hard to top Willie Pastrano. When they were considering stopping his fight against Jose Torres, he was asked the usual "Do you know where you are?" Pastrano showed that he was in complete possession of his faculties when he replied, "I'm in Madison Square Garden getting the shit kicked out of me!"
Willie Pep once said that, "Sugar Ray Robinson is the best fighter pound for pound. I'm the best fighter ounce for ounce".
One I have heard on these board from Eric Morales concerning Marco Antonio Barrera which makes me laugh, "I do not hate him but I think he is a mother fucker".
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
