Cotto still beats him but a fight with canelo or mayweather makes more sense.
A fight with Canelo makes a lot more sense because of the size. Chavez Jr. is a very big middleweight and Cotto is a small junior middleweight.
I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Mayweather, even though it is years too late but just so Cotto can get that last real big payday and then retire.
You can imagine the hate and derision that would be directed toward Mayweather if that fight got made now. Pac or Martinez are the only legit opponents for Mayweather (and many won't even respect a decision to fight Pac at this point).

That's true but there is an excuse for every fight. Pac was the naturally smaller guy or Martinez was drained at 154, Ortiz was inexperienced, Cotto was past it. But truthfully speeking the only real fights for mayweather are Pac and Martinez but I was Talking from Cotto's side, for cotto mayweather will be the best fight get that payday and retire. but from mayweathers side that will be a fight he's critised for.
