I think you guys are being hard on Shane who has never really had it easy and has earned everything he has gained. Shane would have to fight a tough challenger to get back and will probably be the under dog but he can still beat many of these B listed world champions out there at the moment.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Field day for negativity!
Punch and grapple are fights that are for me, very hard to watch... forgettable, boring.
This is what Shane Mosely offers against upper echelon competition, understandably, for he already has an arthritic trigger finger. Friendliness-- touching gloves nods of acknowledgment and general niceness atop the ring goes a long way, so Shane do come exceptionally equipped with these for mega battles.
However, up against softies... like a Paulie, who talks 20 times tougher than how he really fights, then we do have an entertaining brutality on hand. Sugar Shane can still pop real well especially when the target cannot... or the "unsuspecting" falls easy prey. There's that hunter mentality... a sense of safety in knowing that the opposition cannot fire back or too underpowered to be a threat.
That Pacquiao fight did not go along too well for macho Shane.
When his ego no longer reflected a strong will to compete in this bruise and bang and absorb damage sport, he ran away. The probability from getting hurt and therefore unable to neither see nor spend any of the spoils in this endeavor was screaming profanities on his sensibilities. And only when he managed to come up with the perfect exit, did running away finally felt somewhat alright. For an exit, he arranged for bitch talk, although much later after the post fight interviews. This is for damage control, undermining the effort of the victor is always a good play for the "little man" in losers aiming for a bounce back.
This to iron out a damaged profile after a humiliating loss... SS Mosely needed it!
Hosted by Sugar Shane Mosely, the fight resembled for all too see, a "How to" or the ABC's in avoiding getting hurt in the boxing ring. Vigilance and grappling!
And again, never wrongfully emphasized in these scenarios, is to strongly enforce to regain a bruised ego or just for damage control, BITCH TALK! Throw in another mouth to further amplify your arguments... voila', there is nothing more like an effeminate touch to enhance one's argument, thanks Bella, Shane feels much better now!
Instantly, the feeling of a squandered machismo vanished!
Next in line is to prepare for a B-side fight with a softie. This is to offer gore and flagellation to set up for another big fight. Smoke screen... SS Mosely still can!
Be wary though, for this is a prelude for another run fest, if ever another purported mega fight should be arranged.
Chi-chingggg!
PPV hold-up!
Sugar Shame Mosely.
I'll watch a Shane return, to see what he has left. It's not fair to judge him on the Pac/PBF fights. They were big paydays and he was overmatched at this stage of his career (although don't forget he did have some success vs Floyd, more than most manage).
Put him in with, say, Maidana, and I think you'd see a competitive fight at worst, possibly even Mosley dominating. He's far more skilled than a lot at 147. It depends on how much he still wants it.
Good luck to him anyway. He's one of the good guys. It's a shame that he's now held in such lower regard after the Pac fight (if you can call it that).
Who r Mosley's potential opponents?
I figure he'll have a warm up fight and then I think Shane's best option is the winner of Ortiz-Berto II which IMO would be a great fight for him no matter the winner.
I may be in the minority but I've always thought a Mosley-Paul Williams match seemed a good idea. Also he could call out Zab Judah...not title fights or fights that people have been screaming for but I think the style match ups are interesting.
Mosley vs Mike Jones before Jones moves up to the very top teir
I used to be a mosely fan, but his last few performances were pathetic. he has no fire at all now, and should retire asap. hell...he didnt even try to fight!!!
go away shane, u disappointed us fans.
Damn people forget fast. Shane lost to the top 2 men on the planet right now. And he didn't lose his fire, he was just getting beaten to the punch and got gunshy.
Mosley is still a top fighter and definitely has a few good fights left. He has as much left as Marquez did after not looking good for a few fights. He's still a beast.
Shane is as smart as a box of rocks. Wasn't Jin his manager. She took his ass to the bank. What kind of lame lawyer did he have. How does a judge give her all his money plus his belts. Da fuck she gonna do with them. He will have to keep fighting till he can't talk anymore. So sad. His sons get to watch their dad fight until he is old because of their mother. If I was Shane I'd contemplate killing her ass. Or at least going back to court.
How do we know she took all of his money? Surely she would be entitled to no more than half.
One thing that does confuse me is why rich people have to pay alimony after a massive payoff through the divorce courts. Surely a decent pay off is more than enough. Use the money to get an education or start a business, but to need paying off for years on end?
It just reeks of feminism gone too far to me. This is what bugs me about the West. Not only do women keep the children, but they seem to get all the money too.
The men, and in this instance Mosley, just have to continue working their bums off indefinitely. It is incredibly unfair.
I read that she took the belts to hold for his kids until they are 18. Aren't those belts worth a nice sum of cash? Too Shane worked hard for them they are priceless. It appears Shane has a good relationship with his kids. So hopefully they give the belts to their pops whe. They turn 18. Fucking skank.
I think it is the way that he lost to Floyd and Manny that irks people, he promised more and should have at least went for it but he did not. It was not that he could not attack Manny, it was the fact that he actually backed off and fought a negative fight which is unlike Shane. He will start again and build back his credibility.
