So yes the sport has several huge problems that need resolving and many people are upset andd they dont want to take lying down anymore!!

This can be fixed relatively easy, painlessly, and cheap. So my question to everyone who has had enough is simply this.

Will you stop watching?? No more PPV's, no more HBO or showtime, no more ESPN, telefutura, etc, etc. That will fix the sport, are you all ready to jump in and make a commitment?

If the decision gets overturned, it would result to a number of things:

    1. It officially shows that the judges decisions are in error thus exposing their incompetence hence them judging important fights are curtailed.

    2. Whoever orchestrated this shenanigan most likely has a huge amount put into the fight and may have to return the winnings. (However, I'm not sure about this since I don't bet. Discard if winnings are non-returnable once awarded.)

    3. It will make the boxing world aware that such things will not be tolerated and will actively be contested by the boxing fans and the general public.

    4. It will make the corrupt think twice about pulling this stunt again.

    5. It may rejuvinate some confidence in boxing and bring back some of the fans who were lost.

    6. It will resurrect the possibility of a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight which will still never happen.

Giving it a little more credibility is certainly a victory but really I think its just too far gone beyond getting some credibility back. We need an overhaul

But an overhaul is not doable right now. It will take time. What is in the process is the petition. We have to start somewhere and this can be a good start.

When I saw that petition, there were about 19,800 signers. As of now, there are 20,341. You can check it out and see how fast the numbers climb up.

This will actually hurt the sport more than fix it. Imagine all the honest people involved in the business who will lose out because of a mass boycott of boxing. You'd antagonize and punish more honest folks who makes a living out of boxing than the inept scum that should be the only target. I agree with your motive, but your method is just painfully indiscriminate.

The answer to all this is simple Elect a NATIONAL boxing commission. Put Teddy Atlas at the helm. Make all officials accountable for their actions. End the corruption

if PPV numbers went down because the undercards are shit and the decisions are not fair then something might get done.

As for not watching on HBO and Showtime, not going to happen. I have HBO because of game of thrones, boardwalk empire, etc... and showtime because of dexter, homeland, weeds, etc.....

I am not going to stop watching those shows so i will continue to have HBO and Showtime.

As for buying PPVs. I try not to buy them. I have become an avid stream hunter. But there are only so many PPVs that i won't buy. I'm a box aholic. I have watched an internet stream of a fight card in nicaragua that looked like a middle school gym, just to get a chance to see roman gonzalez fight as the headliner.

If you haven't seen Gonzalez fight you need to do so.

So I can stream hunt and hit the Promoters in the nutz for only so long. I'm going to buy a decent amount of ppvs.

I think this is a much better idea. I can't understand why GB wouldn't want to catch the Pacquiao gravy train though? GB must still have animosity for not being able to make the Pacquiao fight. Live Audience voting.

I already have from about a year ago. I used to buy in heaps, its down to about one a year now, all for rip off reasons.

Its all just a big show these days, with clowns and stories running around prior to the event trying to attract more punters. Some judges that scores dont remotely match in the slightest way should be sacked. Theres a woman judge who I swear blinks to much.
Refs that have egos or itineraries of their own.

    Its all

    Great topic onix.

I don’t think boycotts do anything because the majority of Ppv buyers are probably not even hard core fans but fan boys.

Interesting points made by lots of people so far but when you think about the question for several hours as I have since seeing it earlier today, you are left at least imo with a truth or cure that from a spectators stand point that is worse then the disease.

In effect the death of it fixes it because it does need an overhaul and as C J hinted at some kind of overlord. But now you just have another pimp. And really 30, 40 million for these 36 minute performers in this economy?

Now if they are getting that then what are the monopolies making? I watched Arguello/Pryor 1 and 2 on ABC. Saturday afternoon Wild World of Sports. Not a cent.

I don’t buy that the death of it over this is the cure. Much worse so called robberies have happened over its history. You need imo to start with the Judges. It really is a good ole boys club. Not sure how you do that. Put them in booths away from ringside and give them the same angles we have. Address complacency.
