NSAC has the best officials that money can buy.
Full fight for anyone who like me hasnt seen it yet..starts at about 8 min in.
The same Senators were talking about the same thing ten years ago and nothing came of it. I won't be holding my breath although neither of them are up for re-election or need their name in the media so maybe they're actually going to do something this time. Maybe even hold a hearing or two.
The US Congress cannot even effectively accomplish what they are supposed to be doing. They have no business getting involved in boxing and should stay the hell away from it. The whole idea is stupid.
If the agency is income generating then passing it is a no brainier. The problem comes from bargaining about who gets their bill in to be voted on. Then it's like the craps table.

The phrase 'Inmates running the asylum' comes to mind. They are riding coat tales to have a platform and somewhere in a store Abril is having to show I.D multiple times to pass a check.
So we're going to have corruption get rid of corruption? Somehow the math doesn't add up..
"Congress looking into ___" is a sure sign of things getting worse. This would never happen but the only positive I could ever see out of a national commision is if they only recognized one belt and one ranking system. I would essentially get rid of the alphabets and force more of the fights we want to see happen and happen much more timely. That is all a big pipe dream ofcourse.

No, even with a national boxing commission provided congress actually can pass a bill, don't thing that it would do anything about the sactioning bodies. You still get multiple belts. It will however help make boxing a more consistant sport with only one commission. The commission just through osmosis would have more power over the sactioning bodies than it does now and it will be better for the fighters. But just what effEct that will make is unfore seen. It sould have an afect on the corruption potential.
The last thing boxing in the USA needs is a national commission. I can hear it now.
"After this split-decision has been been reviewed, as mandated, we will announce the result. The COMMISSION will surely fast-track this review, and we should have their decision in seven (7) days."
Sounds like a bad dream but anything can happen if you allow it.
