Default Brandon Rios - Mike Alvarado 2

I've seen on boxingscene that this fight has been confirmed. I loved the first fight, no doubt it was one of my favourites on 2012. It was an all out war that could have gone either way of Alvarado didn't get caught.

Who do you think will win the rematch? I think if Alvardo could make adjustments he could have a chance in the rematch, had a good start in the fight and he was constantly snapping Rios head back. These two threw so many punches, and a lot of them were scoring shots. Does anybody think Alvarado has a chance in the rematch or does anybody think he will get stopped again?

If I remember the stoppage was a tiny bit premature, but Rios was no doubt catching up to Alvarado in the end. Rios was looking for a Pacquiao showdown and this has fallen through now, Marquez isn't interested in a Rios showdown at the moment, as he is trying to secure the fifth fight in Mexico which will secure Marquez a large pay cheque if he is going to retire soon.

I wouldn't mind seeing Rios and Alvardo fight again but what i'd really like to see is Rios vs. that dick wipe Broner.

I think it's a likely fight in the future, but Broner said he's going to fight at 135 for a while because he can make the weight comfortably, he wants to clean up the division and he's still young. I don't see Rios going back to 135 as he struggles to make the weight and he needs to get in more fights and adjust properly to 140.

If ever a rematch is going to have the same result it's this one. Worth watching again though, you know what you're going to get.

Yeah I know that Rios is likely done at 135, but I doubt that Broner stays at 135 long, so maybe we could see this fight in the near future @140. I just like to see anybody flatten Broner, and sooner or later he'll have to move up in class face someone like Rios, Danny Garcia, Lucas Matthysse, et al.

Good stuff. These two could wear blind folds and stand on seperate ends of a football field and still manage to find each other with clean shots.

I have a sneaking suspicion though that this one will be mostly one way traffic. Alvarado is a fine fighter but he probally did as good a job of boxing on his feet he could have hoped for and still got worn down. I do think Rios granite is showing some slippage and he is a soaking wet sponge but punch for punch I just see him getting to an Alvarado who will be thinking and pacing too much with the first fight in the back of his mind. If I'm wrong I hope to buy him a beer and shake the hand that knocked out that hyena howling shitheel Rios.

Rios may be a shitheel, but i'd love him if knocked that clown Broner into next week.

If Alvarado boxes a bit more this time, he can win. But Rios knows he can hurt him. Should be a great fight, again.

Obviously will be a great watch, but I can't see any other result happening. Alvarado looked great in spots and landed anything he wanted the first time, but the battle of attrition was going against him in a big way from quite early on imo. These two guys are pretty well as expected each time out. Although Alvarado has more dimension he is chinny and can't resist trading, which is a really bad thing if you're fighting someone like Rios.

I think Alvarado is going to fight smarter and box more and will take it to 12, only to get robbed....

I don't know if Bob Arum is a genius for this fight or an idiot!!!!
This no doubt is a good match up(pending what they left in the ring the first time).

Genius: Action packed fight. If Rios wins, the fans will love him even more. If Alvarado wins in a slugfest, we will have a 3rd fight for sure. ALL GOOD MONEY!!!

Idiot: Rios should be fighting Bradley this time. Arum has clearly shown, he have no real interest in making Bradley a superstar. Bradley needs to learn how to promote himself. It should be a double header with Rios vs Bradley and Alvarado vs Peterson.

Bradley is apparently in negotiations to fight Gamboa and Mayweather.

I'm not bothered how much of a cunt Rios is, he's great to watch in the ring. Boxing could do with another dozen guys who are total arseholes outside the ring but all-action in it. When I'm watching my fights I want to be entertained and that's what you get with Rios.

There are people like Froch that I don't like and want to see lose but I love watching their fights because you know what you're going to get. Rios may be a tit but he brings excitement.

I agree, and it's one of those fights you have to watch.

Alvarado would have to fight very differently to win; he throws too many arm punches to fight and win a war of attrition with Rios. Most likely, even if he tries to box in a rematch, Rios, kmnowing he can walk through the punches, will walk him down and stop him.

Yep. Rios will keep on coming and Alvarez sooner or later will revert back to brawling and get stopped again.
