Who are your favorites when it comes to footwork? Why?
All considerations: up and comers, boxers of old, boxers of VERY old, current professionals, and so on and so forth.

Wlad deserves a big mention due to his incredibly effective footwork for such a big guy. Makes great use of range and usually carries him out of punching range.
The greatest footwork I've EVER seen is from prime Floyd Mayweather. His ability to circle, stay out of range, keep his back off the ropes, escape when pinned in the corner... I've never seen anybody match it.

I don’t really have a favourite per say as in most cases they use their feet quite differently. Here is a few to chew on.
Robinson had some fancy and technical feet
Burley was a master
Sweet Pea
Locche
Pepp
Calderon
The four of them had footwork that anchored their defense
Hopkins
Leonard and by all accounts the other Leonard also
Hagler
Hatton underrated imo in that regard prior to fighting Manny like a bull in a China shop.
As mentioned Mayweathers use of the ring is incredible and how he steers the fight. Another Benton trait who also makes the list.
Mayweather, Ward, Hopkins are very rarely out of position.
Mike Tyson was great getting inside and doing damage with his side to side movement while there.
Sergio Martinez has a way of being where he isn't expected.
Sugar Ray Robinson was almost flawless, he was always in a position to throw something lethal.
This list could go on and on.
When IamInuit gets done the list will be very long!
I agree with all the above.
Also, a little known favorite of mine is former IBF Bantamweight champion Orlando Canizales.
