There are 2 books about the first Afro-American fighter to win a world title. Aycock & Scott brought out a biography & The Longest Fight by William Gildea

I heard that Joe Gans followed Fitz throughout his exhibitions in the U.S. Gans studied Fitz, which contributed to Gans straight hitting, and intelligent boxing. I have not read either to be honest. Finances are bit tight in the present day but both will be bought in the future. The Aycock book looks & sounds quality
