Default Marco Antonio Rubio vs. Domenico Spada ordered for WBC Interim Middleweight Title

Boxing News | WBC orders Rubio-Spada for interim title

Looks like they're doing this to allow Martinez vs. Cotto on June 7th.

June is a long ways, was hoping to see Cotto and Martinez fight sooner than that, even if it wasn't against each other. Kind of a tainted big fight imo, pretty much just depends who is less washed up on the night. Martinez is a total question mark, but he would have also had a big advantage over Cotto a couple of years ago. Is this actually happening at 160 I wonder, that's no good for Miguel.

From what I hear yeah, there will be no catchweight.

Can't believe Spada deserves a world title shot. Barker beat him soundly IMO and it wasn't as close as the cards suggested and Spada also lost twice to Zbik, so I feel Rubio should have no issues in winning this one. Spada loses every time he steps up.
