Boxing News | Chris John Retires
Could've achieved more if he'd taken more chances IMO. Left it too late. Still, hopefully he made some decent money with his choices.

Good!!!
This is very upsetting for us all , however I feel if we stick together we can overcome our sadness.
Remember reality is an illusion caused by a lack of alcohol .
One of the most underappreciated fighters of the decade.. Alot of guys are quick to judge him without ever seeing him during his prime.
Alot of people dont recognize the names on John's resume because they dont pay enough attention to the Asian boxing scene.. John beat some good fighters out of Asia..
If ya didnt know, now u do..
John's reputation as a world class fighter, and also being ranked by many in the top 20 p4p in the past, is almost solely based on his "win" over Marquez. In reality Marquez got ROBBED in that fight. John later traveled to the US and had a draw against Juarez - a guy who a year later lost to Jason Litzau!! Later John fought easy opponents until he got ko'd. In his prime, he would lose to Uchiyama, Mikey Garcia, Nonito Donarie, Abner Mares, Leo Santa Cruz and many more top fighters of today.
Chris John = overated -why? read above.
Chris John was a hell of a boxing talent. But while I'm sure he fought a lot of capable guys from the "asian boxing scene", he should have came over and fought the best from North America, the guys who were ranked the highest in his division.
American fighters werent eager to face him either in Indonesia.. John was a champion for a decade and if anybody wanted his title, they should have traveled to his backyard like Marquez did..
And to clear up John-Marquez, that fight was not a robbery.. It was a close fight where the hometown fighter got the nod which is not abnormal..
