Hopkins was 160 and Toney was 217 or so when he fought Evander that year.

James Toney would always beat Hopkins as Hopkins is too small and would just be trying to survive by running around throwing potshots. Toney back then was pretty much at his best. He was fast, smart, could go forwards and backwards, everything. Even today in 2015 I would pick Toney over BHop. Toney is fighting again in a couple of weeks and should be in with Klitschko within a year. Legend.

Apparently he sparred Wlad in 96 at the wild card and knocked him out

    Classic.

Toney fan to the bitter end.

I'd bet Toney would be moved to tears at your loyalty, Miles. So much so he'd probably invite you to an "all-you-can-eat" buffet. I'd be sure to take along a translator, though.... so you guys can communicate. Unless of course you speak "Slur-ese".
