I like the Phil Collins reference my friend and yes , this will be a banger for a good bit of the fight. I still think Mayweather ranges Marcos into a wild gameplan which will wind up for Floyd landed some killer combos. That's what I want and I think tjats what boxing wants and in reality I think that's what Floyd wants. It satisfies all aspects of negative speculation for both fighters.
I really hope so, but I think Floyd is going to avenge his little sister Adrien in style. Would be much less shocked to see Floyd hurt and stop Maidana than I would a close fight, truthfully.
I never really believed Floyd gives a damn about little Broner. Seriously I think he even feels embarrassed by him. And who wouldn't?
Gotta bump this because I called it, even though Maidana gave Floyd and even tougher fight than I figured.
So many people talked shit about Floyd picking Maidana, saying it was an easy fight and that Floyd could only look good if he knocked Maidana out.
Good call beans but just because the fight was more competitve than expected doesn't mean that it wasn't a cherrypick. Maidana was clearly a cherrypicked opponent but floyd was wrong.
Floyd is obviously getting old and his age is starting to show.
It was a cherrypick gone wrong but he still won clearly.
Maidana brought it, but I think the big difference is that Mayweather isn't the same Mayweather that beat Hatton, for example. Mayweather gets stuck on the ropes a lot, lot more and Maidana doesn't exactly have the footwork of Ricky Hatton to induce that. It indicates that Floyd is old. Like Toney took more and more breathers on the ropes, so does Floyd, but Toney at this age did it better. Maidana hits hard though and is technically improving which is of course to his credit. It isn't entirely fair to Maidana who I think won the fight to say Floyd got old, but he is old. A rematch is fair, but it should be Mayweather seeking to avenge the loss.
Good call guys!
Maidana won or at the minimum deserved a draw.
How sad I'm hearing so many are in denial about the upset happening.
Should put a spoiler tag on this thread just in case.
If people who haven't seen the fight and don't want it spoiled are dumb enough to be reading threads about the fight the day after, they deserve to have it spoiled.
FLOYD WON A CLOSE MAJORITY DECISION.
