Cottos footwork was flawless
Cottos footwork was flawless
HE looked beautiful. Nice of Martinez to not make in the ring excuses of his knee even though it did effect his movement
Cotto looked great now 2-0 with Freddie Roach. I'm excited to see him back. Always been a huge fan. Martinez knee was bum but I'm sure that Cotto would of still won.
I was thinking that, he was amazing. Would love to see him battle GGG
Its interesting to ponder the truth about Miguel's size.

I've noticed Cotto is really hard to hit clean, almost like Clottey or Wright used to be with those hands up.
He's not doing that retreating n covering up with his right only while turning away anymore.
He gets in n does work then he's out n protecting.
I have watched the fight a couple of times since. Its hard to say that Cotto wasn't on the ball despite Martinez's age and knee. I am surprised at how comfortable he looks at MW. Still need to see a couple of fights at that weight to see if Cotto really is in his comfort zone or weather Martinez really was shot.
All good to look forwards to.
Bigger man George, bigger punch!

"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Exactly. All the more reason to admire someone like Cotto. He's shown the ability to learn and adjust his style throughout his career. He's fallen into some bad habits, but has listened to his trainers and made the necessary adjustments. All his trainers have had nothing but good things to say about his work ethic and his ability to learn. I thought Pedro Diaz did wonderful things with Cotto at that stage of his career. And now Roach has come in with his own style and beliefs... and he's getting the most out of Cotto. The only glitch which I never understood was when Cotto went with Joe "WTF" Santiago, which of course made no sense... but I think Cotto was in a stage of his life where he thought he could train himself. It took him awhile before he figured out you have to let the trainer be the boss.
