In the last two years Wlad has "treated" us to:

    • A one-sided snoozefest against Alex "Who The F*ck is" Leapai.
    • A wrestling match against the game, but bewildered Povetkin.
    • Another lopsided win against Francesco "WTF" Pianeta.
    • A non-memorable decision over Mariusz Wach.
    • A 2nd knockout victory over retread Tony Thompson.

Before that it was a win over Mormeck, and the memorable "Toe-gate" circus against Haye.

Haven't we heavyweight boxing fans suffered long enough??

are you suggesting he shouldn't take on the mandatory challengers and lose the belts ?

I dont think that would be the best idea, whilst there is not super challenger or super hyped challenger like haye, then all wladimir has is the belts, these non mandatory fighters people say he should fight really haven't done anything to justify a title shot either.. I think Wladimir is doing it right just now, keep taking on the mandatories untill he has a chance to get the wbc belt .

At least one problem seems to be the rules that enable these guys as mandatory fights. Most of these fights no one really wanted to see. I did want to see the Haye fight and Povetkin one, but not the others.

If we can't blame Wlad, then let's blame the system. But someone needs to be blamed for the crap opponents Wlad is fattening his record with. And while we're throwing blame around, Wlad isn't completely blameless. Povetkin was a good, bonafide, willing opponent, until Wlad neutralized him with his cowardly mauling, wrestling, cheating tactics. If I want to watch WWF, I'll change the channel.

I wanted to see the Haye fight. I could have waited for Povetkin. I really thought Thompson deserved another crack at it considering how much of an alright performance he put up, especially based on Wlad's other options and performances to date. But I could have lived without seeing Wlad/Thompson II.

The fans, from what I gather, do not mind a Pulev- even though he may be brought along rather carefully, but not as dodgy as Wilder has been.

The next fights for Wlad before he retires SHOULD be Pulev, who he is facing now. Wilder, Jennings, Stiverne and Briggs, just to shut Briggs up- but most likely won't happen unless it is a Briggs fight in between Pulev and one of the other mentioned WORTHY challengers.

I don't see another European aside from Pulev that's worthy. Fury talks a lot of shit, but do we really need to see Wlad beat him up? No!

I think Wlad would give Arreola a shot at it now, too. All things considered. It's not as if Arreola isn't officially a legitimate contender, even though he lost to Stiverne.

Helenius is out. Ustinov isn't match-worthy. Glazkov isn't ready just yet. Scott put himself out of any title shot due to his weak performance against Wilder. Chisora is way off of the radar, and will be further off of the radar when Fury beats him again- if Fury beats him again. Perez will most likely not get past Jennings. No one has really heard of Ortiz to give him anything. Lucas Browne is one dimensional and most likely will get pummeled for 3-4 rounds before he retires and is either knocked out or quits in his corner. And Andy Ruiz isn't ready at that level yet- although after about another year or so, with a few more top 5 contenders under his belt, he will be.
    Bigger man George, bigger punch!

that's fair... the system is dodgy for sure.. I am happy leapai got his title shot just because the system is so weird/crap... Boystovs promoters were maneuvering him to an easy title shot and leapai upset the applecart and beat him.. So whilst he doesnt really deserve the shot he beat the system at least S: which was nice..

I agree about the povetkin fight(who i think is technically wlads best win)... wlad just ruiined it and I hope to see a rematch with a stricter referee..

As for wladimirs voluntary defences, the only one I thought that was bad was the mormeck fight, that was just a terrible choice... as for the others, I dont see who else he should pick, jennings has only recently become a semi major name after beating the polish fellow(I cant spell his name) and both he and wilder are probably going to go down the wbc path... I dont think tyson fury or chisora would take a fight v wlad without asking for more money than they are worth(which is fair enough!) and really none of these guys are good enough to justify the loss of earnings for wladimir to take them on.. I think wladimir has proved twice already he will make fair deals to get the major fights done, he took a 50/50 split v Ibragimov and haye to make the fight happen.. So in my opinion wlad is no dodger and will take on any realist challenger

The only outcome I can see is a easy, less than thrilling Wladimir win
