Re: Stıverne wıll HAVE TO get ınsıde FAST on Wılder
There's a lot of things stiverne can do to improve his position in this fight. First and foremost is work on his head movement. Lets be honest its not like punches will be coming from all angles. As you guys have said wilder favors that long range 2 piece... Stiverne can benefit greatly by slipping under those shots and countering when wilder haphazardly over extends as he often does. It keeps stiverne in a position to set up the counter and bomb wilder out when wilder stumbles face first into his range. The issue now is that stiverne likes to play that your turn my turn stuff at times and shell up along the ropes waiting for his opponent to finish.
The easiest thing stiverne can do next to that is get his cardio up and take wilder into deep water and drown him. Wilder's been lucky in that the amount of energy he pi$$e$ away with those big winging shots paid off before they slowed him down. Stivernes got the counterpunchers edge already, he just needs to max out his training camp and make it even easier on himself.
Lastly, take full advantage on the inside. Wilder is young and dumb enough to let go prematurely , figuring hes protected by the respect he feels he deserved from his star status. Work him over till the ref gets there. If he tries to lean on stiverne (as big fighters generally do with shorter fighters) Stiverne needs step through with his dominant leg, pivot back with the other foot, hook Wilder's heel and push him over. Big guys have to expend a lot more energy getting up.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.
