Baton Rouge police said Emanuel was shot about 8 p.m. Monday on Louisiana Avenue just a few blocks north of Government Street. He was found in the roadway between North 17th and Brice streets, not far from theNorth 14th Street Park boxing gym where he grew up training — a gym he returned to in the last few years after moving back to Baton Rouge following a lengthy boxing career.
Augustus remained on life support and in critical condition late Tuesday, said a police spokesman.

Without writing him off yet, with such wound to the head, IF he survives, you can be sure that he's in for a couple of tough years into recovery. Cranial traumas are no jokes to deal with.

This seriously bums me out. You follow someone and you get to feel like you know them. I can't imagine how his family and friends feel. Truly frickin tragic.
