This makes sense and I hope it happens but I can see Cotto lose to Canelo and even if he wins I can see Cotto try and avoid GGG by trying to take on Taylor.

At this stage I think Canelo beats Cotto. I admire Miguel's willingness to fight the best. That being said, GGG will kill him. It won't even be a good fight to watch because style wise GGG is all wrong for Cotto and is going to put him in a coma. If Cotto thought margarito was big and relentless, ggg is going to chew him up and spit him out. Pulverize him.

GGG is the man of the moment, he may not have the profile of Floyd, but make no mistake GGG is pound for pound the best fighter in the world right now. He is a beast and all of a sudden the Middleweight division has returned to its rightful position as the best. Canelo, Cotto, GGG....it's almost like the 80's again. Love It! 2015 should be a stellar year for boxing in the Middleweight division. I just hope promoters don't fuck it up or fighters run scared.....

Would you really rank GGG above Floyd at this point? Not trying to say anything derogatory, just think it may be a little early for that. I see Floyd as a 140 pounder who can beat anyone 154 and down. I see GGG as a 154 pounder who can beat anyone 160 and down. I think GGG loses to Ward and maybe Froch, depending on how much Carl has left these days.

Interested to hear your take, as I think GGG is very skilled and a great fighter, not to mention more exciting than Floyd and Ward. I feel that his exciting style is what will be his downfall, and ultimately separate him from Ward n Floyd, who in my opinion seem a little more versatile in the ring. Anyways, interesting and bold comment, for sure.

Roach knows that Cotto ends his career win or lose against Alvarez.

Canelo doesn't fight at 160 and Cotto is a 154 fighter who was best at 147 who happens to fight at 160. The division is terrible. Even Canelo who you credit wrongfully as being a 160 fighter was just shut out by a 147 fighter. So even if he was at 160, which he isn't, it doesn't mean that much.
I'd be happy to see GGG even fight Bika or either Dirrell over what is happening in the wasteland that is 160.

Hold on a minute, lets not drag a cheat into this.

Cotto career/live changed because of a disgraceful mexican that doesnt belong in the same room as chavez or marquez.

Cotto easily beat margarito in the rematch without the plaster and GGG is way to big for cotto so why isnt GGG moving up instead of down?!

Some people need to get off GGG nuts as theres nothing to brag about when your chasing fighters in the lower divison.

Cotto is a great fighter and at this stage he can milk all the big names he can get with canelo being one of them.

GGG is chasing anyone and everyone right now. Quillin and Jacobs won't even utter his name. Cotto is the lineal champ, and if Canelo beats him he will be lineal champ. I like the idea of GGG completely cleaning out 160 prior to moving up.

Is it really being on his nuts to appreciate his style and skill in the ring? The guy demolishes solid opponents and is humble. What is bad about him? To say he is ducking people is absurd, no one wants to get in the ring with him.

If I get your point, Floyd is establhedso it is ok for him to continue to sit on his laurels and not fight his perceived biggest threat in Manny, who has shared the same weight division for years. At the same time. You're saying that it is wrong for GGG to continue smashing solid opposition and clean his weight class out to establishhilf and not go up in weight and face his biggest perceived threat. You don't make sense to me...

    Mike,

This has nothing to do with floyd.

Everyone behind the scenes know theres an issue with bob arum and always has been.

Its great that GGG is winning so lets just see what choice he makes on the next fight as cotto should not be first on the list.
