Eubanks are different breed of family. Dad made sure son really had the abilility before he allowed him to step in the ring.

But he lacks one thing and that's managing adversity. He has not had any. Now maybe he does fine. But this is where a lot before him have failed. In their first taste of it. If this was a natural talent contest he'd win hands down. Personally I can see this fight going either way. Jr steps up and shows he's the real deal or he folds after getting hit flush a few times for the first time.
I think the way he dealt with Benn and Watson and also how he has dictated terms to warren goes some way to proving that eubank can take whats thrown at him and turn it around.
That is his dad and not him. One does not gain the ability to manage adversity through osmosis.
The experience and adversity dad has and faced are priceless and he can pass that knowledge to his son. Still no guarantee junior will be a success but it is an advantage.
Have you read his autobiography Master? you can't not love him after that.
Yes. I think Chris is brilliant but barmy. Remember what he did at his dads funeral?
Yes. I was just telling Maxine about that. The steel of the man.
I thought it was totally inappropriate, there is a time and a place and that was not it to criticise his dad. He got chased out of the town!

Haha. Yeah it was totally the wrong place. But I had to admire his single-mindedness.

Ftr Jr could have been chomping at the bit for this moment. To climb out from behind his fathers boot straps and become his own man. Could be his most liberating time as a young fighter.

Btw, the irony of this thread becoming about his father did not go unnoticed

This was the best possible outcome for Warren. Saunders can go on and have his world title shot and Eubank has good loss. SD against a top 10 in the div is credible and shows he can cut it at the top. I think he will struggle against any big punchers though.

If Lee beats Korobov Saunders-Lee is an absolutely massive fight with the pikey/Irish community. They'll fill the Docklands arena again for that one.

Eubanks battered Saunders in some rounds but not enough to win the contest.

The ref thought so. Had to save Saumders in the last rou d and pull Eubank off him for about 10 seconds!

Would be a very interesting rematch, Eubank just needs to seriously up his work rate and throw way more punches and also start boxing from the first bell instead of the 5-6 round.

I'd lose Eubank snr too at least get him the fuck out of my corner during fights.

Saunders boxed clever and deserved the win but I think Eubank should have just swarmed him from the start and must be kicking himself now.

Bad tactics most probably from his dads gameplan hoping BJS would run out of steam then be a sitting duck for the KO.

Haha have you seen the post fight video on youtube of Saunders saying " fair play to Eubank but he's still a cunt" funny stuff

This kinda sums up what I think of Eubank snr interfering

Jnr didn't do anything in the first 5 rounds....if only he had done more it might of been a win

never mind Jnr will hopefully learn from that and be even better

Good fight and well done to the winner

    Billy Joe's last 6 opponents

Jarrod Fletcher - 12-0 when he fought BJ. 6-1 since with his only loss coming in a "world" title challenge.

Nick Blackwell - 12-1 Gone 3-1-1 since. Only loss in International title fight. Previous loss against Martin Murray.

Matthew Hall - 25-6 Former Commonwealth champion. Retired.

Spike O'Sullivan - 16-0 Irish middleweight champ. International titlist. 1-0 since.

John Ryder - 15-0 Unbeaten since. Won international title.

Emanuele Blandamura - 22-0 International titlist. Not fought since.

    Eubank Jr last 6 opponents

Alistair Warren - 8-5-3 Taxi driver.

Sandor Micsko - 22-5-2 Hungarian road sweeper.

Robert Swierzbinski - 13-2 Polish taxi driver.

Stepan Horvath - 12-3 Czech Republic Postman. Since KO'd in 2 rounds by Liam Williams

Ivan Jukic - 19-2 Croatian Milkman.

Omar Siala - 23-17-3 German Greengrocer.

Imagine if we reversed the opponents, is there anyone that thinks Billy Joe wouldn't KO all 6 of Eubank's comp inside 7 rounds?

Would Eubank jr be a cert against Billy Joe's comp? I think he could beat them but i'd want to see him prove it.

((Yes I'm a boring nerdy train spotter. Fact.))
Billy Joe's last four opponents were unbeaten with a combined record of 71-0. Some going, especially for a "non"-puncher.
    3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
