Walcott was a fine boxer, but he never was a great champ. He got jobbed in the first Louis fight, he won that fight no question, but he got KTFO in the rematch so he would have just lost the title there. Then he beat Ezzard Charles and got destroyed by Marciano in his defense. So Walcott, despite his skill, was the #1 in his weight class for about a year. Not exactly top 15 numbers.

You know shit about boxing if you claim Walcott was a bum. You are a disgrace and should never be allowed on the internet again.
    Joe Walcott.. 51-18

    Toplist material right there.

Current fighters could never dream of such a successful career :lol1:
Have you never heard great fighters like Hopkins and Toney refer to Walcott’s moves and skill in the ring?

He fought in a day when records were not padded and protected as they are now.

    Your stupidity knows no bounds.
He fought in an incredibly weak era after war where a boxer like that could possibly become HW champion.

The records were MORE padded than now with guys who were not even training properly or enough. We can take a look at Walcotts opponents opponents too and see some even MORE shocking results. Not only do they have even more terrible records, but these records consist of barely any real HW fights and some even as low as bloody featherweight!

Hopkins and Toney can pay reverence as much as they like!

Hopkins and Toney achieved far better records against FAR better opposition from start of career, to finish, any way you slice it, and would have both knocked Walcott out easily. Basic fact!
You thInk a lightweight and an overweight heavyweight could beat a former heavyweight champion like Jersey Joe Walcott? You are mad! Completely mad.
Take a look at Hopkins LOL That's no lightweight mate! And fuck me, as if Toney would even bother to step in the ring with Walcott! Toney would have had tougher sparring sessions than that!

On the contrary it is YOU who are mad to assume Walcott has any chances whatsoever here and it is an insult to Hopkins and a STINKING insult to Toney!

I doesn't matter if Toney was fat. Toney was HEAVY!
I meant light heavy weight and of course he would beat Hopkins and probably Toney.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
