    Default Canelo v Cotto

Oscar tweeted suggesting this fight is made. How does everyone see this going? I think its a bad matchup for Cotto who will take a bad beating in this fight getting stopped late. I still dont rate Canelo and think there are plenty of fighters who will beat him but he is getting matched well.

Pure money fight this one, a big pay day for each fighter laughing all the way to the bank.

Cotto should unify the titles against Taylor and Andy Lee after he wins this fight.

All things being equal the bigger man should win

What we have here is Cotto in large measure fighting a younger, stronger version of himself. Given their styles I don't even think big fight experience is a factor. Cotto is a better boxer imo but we've rarely seem him stick to it. Not since Shane really.

I have this feeling he's going to go southpaw.

    Really looking forward to this.

I've supported Cotto since he started but his "A-side" ego is getting a little thick. If he really feels that way then he needs to not hold that trinket hostage

I think Cotto has earned the right to make a money fight just as Sergio did. Cotto has earned it for at least one defence and most people think he will lose.

if Cotto sticks to his disciplined boxing he could pull this off.

I'm pretty sure the belt is not on the line but he has already got the easy pay say against Sergio and if this Alvarez fight is his last then great but should he win he needs to either fight another champion at 160, defend against the number one challenger or drop the trinket.

I think this will be his last fight though

I can see Cotto fighting Taylor or Lee if he wins.

Cotto hasn't taking a beating for awhile so perhaps he can adapt and last for a decision loss.

Canelo owns everyone who steps up from the WW divison..bar one!

Cotto is a real 154 fighter now. The division is to big for him but he's to big for 147 and can no longer make the weight and be 100% for a fight.

Alvarez is a 160 fighter that appears to be able to make 154 still but he's what 22? He's destined for 160 but the lads are bigger and he wont be the star.

This is going to be a catch and I hope the title is not on the line however I think we are more likely to see Alvarez make the move and fight other middles should he win then we are to see Cotto do the same.

Either one of these guys given the talent pool could conceivably beat and possibly unify portions of the 160 division with anyone not from Kazakhstan. Btw, what is is with "Stan" and that part of the world?
Stan must have been one hell of a guy to have that many countries named after him.

I think Thurman could beat him at 154. Brook could outbox him too I think and Khan could possibly beat him if he doesnt get sparked early.

At this point I see Canelo putting in too much work to allow Cotto to think he's been reborn as a technician. Its good that Cottos fighting smarter, but I think the difference between where he caught Sergio and Canelo in their respective careers, makes itself known. Canelo may not be a surgeon in there, but hes got a decent chin and has youth on his side. If Cotto can't land something huge, I dont think hes mobile enough to keep Canelo from grinding him down.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.
