I don't get it. I just don't get it?!?! The same Garcia that struggled against Peterson and Herrera?!?

Matthyse is a wicked puncher and does have skills, but he's not fleet of foot or the most durable guy out there. Good style for Garcia, good game plan, career best performance on the night, and I think the cut really took Lucas out of the fight for a large part of it. Don't forget Judah and Alexander both won decisions over Matthyse.
Yea but Matthysse got screwed over in those 2 fights. I dont know how Garcia gets away with fighting weak opposition. For a guy whos considered a top P4P hes fought like 2 very good fighters, Khan and Matthysse, and a decent fighter in Lamont Peterson. Hes fun to watch but looks like his team are terrified of putting him with other top fighters.
I thought the Alexander decision was bad, but Zab banked all of the early rounds against Lucas, that was a fair enough call. I agree about Garcia, and I don't think to many people would call him a top guy right now, but Herrera(who is surely at least decent) and Peterson were both careful not to exchange with him and Matthyse didn't quite have that option is my take.
Remember reality is an illusion caused by a lack of alcohol .
Danny Garcia put on a great performance against Matthysse, boxed better than anyone thought he could and showed a WORLD CLASS CHIN, because he took some flush bombs from Matthysse that would have knocked 95% of the division out IMO. It was a masterful performance.
Since then he's looked much shittier against much shittier opposition. Who knows why, it's very strange. Maybe he's one of those guys who fights to the level of his opposition, and needs to be in there with a world beater like Khan or Matthysse to really rise to the occasion.

I think it's just the styles man. Garcia is a solid boxer with a big punch and a great chin, but not a great boxer. I wouldn't say it was a masterful performance against Mattyhsse as like you say he did take a lot of big shots. Mattyhsse went to war against John Molina right after that fight, then Molina got schooled by Broner and couldn't land much, just for another example. MAaaaybe, Mattyhsse gets a bit overrated as a boxer in all of this?
Also remember that Lucas changed his per fight rituals for that fight. He switched his camp from the normal training in Argentina near his family to training in the US and engaging in the prefight press tour and festivities..probably because of the issue that came up with his passport in the Peterson fight. Doesn't seem to agree with him. He seems to fight better when he's played it low key.
That and the styles and the fact that Garcia seemed like the type of fighter that fight to the level of his competition. So knowing matthysse was dangerous, he probably prepped more that the extra eyebrow shaping he did for salka, Peterson. It appears Lucas wants that one back bad to do it the way he should have
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Danny Garcia seems like a nice chap, ive heard him interviews and that and he seems like a down to earth fella
but for some reason i want him to lose and i dont know why
maybe its his dad
Officially the only saddo who has had a girlfriend
Matthysse fighting half the fight with one eye was a massive factor (imo). Also Garcia showing a granite beard was a factor
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
That was a major setback for Matthysse as he was being propped as the next big thing. Had he prevailed, he surely will have had a bout a Floyd by now or be a frontrunner as an opponent in September. I believe that was their intent when they put Matthysse and Garcia on the Mayweather/Alvarez undercard...
Considering how much Garcia has wasted his opportunities since that fight, I kinda wish Matthysse had beaten him.
It is the dad that is why most people do not like Garcia but without him Khan would not have been so reckless to get himself knocked out. After Garcia beat Khan, he became the best fighter at light welterweight.
Garcia had some hard fights and I can understand taking easier fights but his level has not been the high standards he set. I am sure when needed Garcia will raise his game again.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Lucas looked like shit when he fought a old Zab and Alexander i think the reason is that he can be out boxed and starts slow.Garcia boxed well and has power not to mention a chin so Lucas did not look so great and he got his eye fucked up to it is all about styles my freind.
