If Khan does anything but box and run he dies !!!!

Can anyone think of a supposedly chinny fighter who moved up a weight class or two and became more durable ?

    .
Good question. I think more than a few questioned Cotto moving up after getting dropped by Torres and held on against Corley.
IMO he proved a sandwich or two was key as Rito and Pac pounded his face, yet he stayed upright, albeit bloody as heck.

Now Cotto was struggling to make weight, not sure of Khan having ease or difficulty making weight the past few years.

Canelo should not be respected for this fight period. Anything other than a quick KO is an embarrassment for him.
Agreed. Even before this fight I wasn't the biggest fan of Canelo. When I read the announcement I was in disbelief. The fact that he's fighting a WW instead of a middleweight is just sad in my opinion. People give GGG shit because of his resume, but at least he's fighting people in his weight class. If Canelo doesn't knock out Khan in under 6 rounds (and if it takes that long that's bad news for when he fights GGG) then my respect for him will plummet.

I'm looking forward more to the post fight interview, when Max asks him about GGG and to see what he says.

    Question to ALL:

Is Canelo good at cutting the ring off?

Nothing new for Canelo, remember the Josesito Lopez fight? (SMH)

That's why I don't want a great fighter like GGG waiting around for Canelo fighting weak opponents. Canelo, even with his orange head, is no carrot to chase. He's a fraud. GGG should not waste these years looking at the Chavez/Canelo types. GGG should be going for other real elite fighters.

He is no Julio Ceaser Chavez but with a good ref, commission behind him and push from the media ppv company, it is effective.

Amir is getting 13 million for this fight. That’s some incredible scratch given his standing in the fight game. He's laughing at all of us skeptics. 13 million and if he lasts 6 rounds that’s 18 minutes of work. If it goes 4 rounds that’s over a million a minute. Should he pull a Leicester city out of the bag then what?

I don't mean to doubt you, but I don't believe for one second he's getting that much. is there anywhere we can see that states this?
if I'm wrong, and he is getting 13 Million , whether it be £'s or $'s, I am going to stop giving him stick and be honest enough to understand why he's taken the fight.
I say fair play to him, I don't give a flying fuck whether he wins or loses, and nor does he probably.

That’s part of life and he's not expected to win. He's already lost fights he should have won. This is all gravy man. Boxers lose. He's already won by landing the fight and the payday.

Thanks for that. WOW!!!!!!!!! I am fucking speechless! Fair play to Khan, that is a ridiculous payday. fuck me, for that money he would've probably have fought Kovalev!!
Well , I don't think he has a chance and I don't think the fight should've been made , but I can't criticise Khan now. After all, if every single one of us were in his shoes , we would've done exactly the same. I can't be hypocritical about this , He has to be given credit for his financial acumen if nothing else.

Amir Khan v Floyd Mayweather unlikely to happen, says Briton

Amir Khan says he is unlikely to fight Floyd Mayweather if the American makes his expected return from retirement.

Briton Khan, 29, faces Mexican WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Khan felt he was close to securing a fight last year with Mayweather, who retired in September and has recently hinted at a comeback.

"He messed me around, so I'd probably treat him the same way - I don't think I'd take that fight," said Khan.

Mayweather is a former five-weight world champion considered by many observers to be the best fighter of his generation.

"Floyd's probably missing not having his picture on the MGM," added Khan.

"He must see my picture and Canelo's picture and think 'people have forgotten about me'. As soon as you say you're retired, we do forget about the people who say that.

"Mayweather's feeling that now, he's feeling like no-one's talking about him, that he's old news, and maybe that's why he's trying to get everyone supporting him again by saying 'I want to make a comeback'.

"Whatever Mayweather says, let him say it."

Khan's bout with 25-year-old Alvarez is the biggest of his 11-year professional career.

Alvarez has won 46 of his 48 fights and lost only once - that defeat coming against Mayweather in 2013.

Khan, a two-time former world champion, has won 31 and lost three of his 34 professional fights but has not held a world title since 2012.

He has not fought since outpointing Chris Algieri in May 2015 and has made a jump of two weight divisions to set up the WBC world middleweight title bout.

Khan says he is taking inspiration from Leicester City, who began the football season as 5,000-1 outsiders to win the title but became Premier League champions on Monday.

"It is unbelievable how a team like Leicester have come up from nowhere and took the title," added Khan.

"This is similar to what I am going in to with this fight against Canelo, because I am the underdog.

"I think it is the year of the underdog with Leicester and me going in to this fight. It is our year."

I've been pretty quiet about this fight so far, I can't fucking stand Khan and he has no right getting a result against Alvarez.

But I have the same feeling about this fight that I did when it looked like he was going to fight Mayweather, I just cant help but feel that the twat is going to have 1 career defining fight.

Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying I think he will win I just have this horrible feeling in my gut that something will go wrong and....well....he'll win

I couldn't bare to see his face plastered over every fucking paper, see him appearing on every fucking TV show and popping up all over the fucking internet, hopefully he'll get KTFO and fuck off into a little hole never to be seen again...perfect scenario would be if he took David Haye with him as well

He does not do well against styles like Alvarez. For a man with his kind of "boxing" talent he sure has been an underachiever. Might be time for him to overachieve just once. He's got one of the biggest egos in boxing and yet has done nothing to justify it. That’s his achilles heel and always will be. They have sure kept his camp under wraps although people could be getting glimpses in your neck of the woods. Maybe when he takes his rob off on fight night he'll look like Joshua lol. He should have used Douglas as a motivator or Honeyghan and not Leicester city. In case he hadn’t noticed, soccer is a team sport. His chances are slim to none and slim has gone on holidays but they said the same thing about Douglas and Randy Turpin.

Ps-Khan has got to be w/o a shadow of doubt the most despised boxer in Britain.
