    Parkers fight.

He needs to face another tough contender yet before he gets anywhere near a title. Needs to learn to move his head and feet and not load up on everything.

Takam is going nowhere and when Hughie is over his acne/immune system problem Takam would be perfect for him.

Tidy little fight, Parker showed his highlight reel stuff for rounds 2-4, and for the rest of it it was fairly sporadic. I had Parker ahead by 116-112.

    Scores on the doors:
    116-112
    116-112
    115-113

Personally I thought Parker showed some good stuff, but I'm not sure he's going to want to go straight into a fight with AJ. Another couple of quality gatekeepers would do him a lot of good.

Parker wouldn't be able to cope with AJ. He boxes well at times but shows his inexperience under pressure. He gets hit too easily and despite the fact it went 12 rounds I've got doubts about his stamina.
It's one thing doing 12 rounds when you can go for a little walk or take a round or two off, but when you are constantly either applying or under pressure, it's a different story.
I know some people will say the same about AJ, but he has freakish power and I don't see him having to go 12 that often. I'm not saying he may not ko'd himself at some stage, but that's HW Boxing.

Having had a chance to think about the fight a little, I'm seeing a few of the bad habits in Parker that kind of annoyed me a little when Tyson Fury used to fight a few years ago. He turns his back and walks away at times, which is disrespectful, and he has a habit of backing off with his chin up in the air.

I definitely wouldn't put Parker in with AJ yet, Dilian Whyte might be an interesting bout as an undercard to something over here, or even Tony Thompson or someone of that ilk.

parker will have learned more from that fight than he did in all of his other fights put together.

It's those tough ten/twelve rounders against seasoned, wily veterans that provide the real schooling to young prospects. Tyson went the full distance with Quick Tillis on the way up and he has always said it was one of his best learning fights.

Joshua has never had a learning fight, and he is now a titleholder. I hope that doesn't leave an unfixable gap in his boxing education.

I think Parkers stamina is fine.

I also think he believed his own hype that hes a massive puncher, even the British commentators kept referring to his big power. I dont think he is such a big puncher. Minto lasted longer with Parker than he did against Whyte.

He threw the kitchen sink at Takam and was loading up on everythng thinking he could get a hi light stoppage and burnt himself out early.

He didnt look ready for a belt holder but at the same time if Joshua had fought Takam I dont think he wouldnt have looked any better.

This gives his whole team a chance to reassess where he is.

Iv already mentioned this but getting him in Furys camp as a sparring partner would do him wonders. He looked today like someone whos never been punched back and to be far he hasnt.

Hearn will want a fight between Parker and Joshua because Parker didnt look great but I dont think this fight proved that Parker is not very good I think it just proved he cant fight a world rated challenger the same way he fights domestic level journeymen.

Whyte will be to much for Parker what I have seen of Whyte he is the 3rd best HW in this Country,
Parker is not bad but AJ will stop him in about 6 rounds, interesting times ahead in the HW division
about time it's been shit for some time.

Just watched it on youtube, pretty good fight.. Really good learning experience for parker, I had him winning 115-113. Takam isn't going to win a world title but he is strong, tough, fit and at 240lbs he isn't going to be easy to bully and push around. I think parker showed some good potential and some weakness, takam was catching him pretty easy with the left counters early on. Parker was also close to punching himself out in round 8(i think ), he did well to come back after looking exhausted. He certainly needs to tighten up his defence, pace himself a bit better and try to clinch and lean when he it would benefit him(although it is hard to do that against a very strong guy like takam in my opinion). Parker certainly answered a lot of the standard questions about prospects, he seems to be able to take a punch and fight for twelve rounds, he did look tired at times but recovered well against an in shape contender.

I don't think parker is ready to fight for the title, I hope he takes on another two or three really good contenders before going for a title. I think taking on Duhaupass then pulev would be the best bet for him(if possible :S), duhaupass isn't great but has proved his toughness, is tall and seems to pack a punch going from his recent win over helenius, Pulev is also another really good contender and would provide brilliant experience before a title fight.. I think he will go for Joshua next and probably get ko'd but whatever he is still young at 24 so he can come back after that

also takam v chisora would be a really fun fight, someone should make that happen !

Sparring Fury later rounds would really make him rethink his lumbering footwork, he is so readable at the moment the only time he pretends he is slightly lighter on his feet and reactive is when he is out of range, anyone skip fit is going to have him all night long after playing the first three safe.

Who would be a good learning fight for Joshua?

I think duhaupass would be good, he is big, tall, strong and tough and most importantly isn't that good, so he could take guys late into the fight and make them work, like he did v wilder, although wilder did start to dominate him pretty easily but I think you could tell from wilders reaction from when the fight was stopped how tough he found that fight.

Parker looked like he'd shot his bolt halfway through but came back pretty well. I doubt his handlers will be in a hurry to stick him in with AJ, although Takam might take AJ deep too.

Having backed Parker to win on PTS I applaud Takam for being a hard cunt. Thanks.

Good fight, Parker did well especially when he looked like he might gas.

Best bit though for me was Parker trying to flog Burger King, and the clown in the ring doing the post fight interview signing off with 'and the NEW.........IBF mandatory challenger of the World...Joseph......Parker!!!! Golden

I dont think either of these two have the firepower to stop Joshua ploughing through them.

    Called it spot on.

Parker should go after Bermane Stiverne...he's a big puncher but doesn't have much output and after a fight like that the fucking obvious fight is Lucas Browne, that would be a big fight in Australia and I think they would actually have a fun fight to watch.

Takam is an acid test for contenders, he's tough and durable, he's got decent pop but not enough to get him a title. If Joshua was to fight him I think Joshua punches hard enough to take him out in 5-7 rounds.
