Smith seems relaxed and confident he can stop Canelo, interesting what he says about the weight - in that Canelo hasn't fought at 154 since the Mayweather fight 3 years ago and anything close to that hasn't wanted to put a title on the line.

I don't think Canelo can still comfortably fight at 154 whereas Smith clearly can which is why im picking Smith to stop him in the late rounds

They're expecting 100k fans to fill the AT&T stadium.
Watched the HBO promo last night on youtube.
What a stadium the Cowboys have got.
Any news on the undercard ?

I said it before and I'll say it again. Canelo will come in over the weight, it won't be for the title, so if Smith loses , he keeps his title. If Canelo does miraculously make the weight, he may be sufficiently drained that an upset could be on the cards.

He's been weighing in at 155, it's not as though he's been consistently missing the weight by several pounds. Surely one pound isn't going to have an adverse effect on him, considering he turns into the hulk after the weigh-in

You would think it shouldn't make a lot of difference, but it's as much Psychological. he hasn't made 154 for 3 years, and the last time he did , I believe was for the Mayweather fight .
Now I'm not going to make any excuses for him for that fight because he wasn't even in it imo, but I clearly remember seeing a pic of him at the 30 day weigh in , when he was a stone over the limit and thinking to myself "Where the fuck is he going to lose a stone from?". Amazingly, I've just found the link!

I think he'll "make" the weight. Even if he steps on and then steps off before the scale really settles or uses diuretics. He's based in Mexico; the WBC is based in Mexico; and they're fighting over the border in Texas which is known for crooked Sh*t.

Oscar says, canelo follows suit and then he'll start paying weight penalties when he can't do this any longer... till GGG looks beatable or loses a step.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

To the US fans, Liam Smith is better than Ryan Rhodes, Mathew Hatton and Khan.

Respect to Smith for coming over. It's big enough for first U.S fight and even more daunting being led into Texas. All advantages Canelo and think it'll be one sided. ppv with chief support Gabe Rosado vs Monroe jr . ESPN take a bow.

I disagree I've been a fan of beefys since day 1, he will take it to canelo.

It's a massive challenge but it'll be a great close fight

Canelo has never been above 155 for a weigh in, and he's never missed that. Whatever you think of the guy and his hold stint with the "middleweight" title, it's not like this is Chavez Jr we are talking about here. I'd like to see the upset as well, but stylistically it looks like a good fight for Canelo, imo.

I really hope he does to be honest. No doubt Smith will bring it but in a battle of body shots only see Canelo setting traps and breaking him down off his straight line.
