We've talked about hurricanes and tornadoes on here.... but anybody keeping up with this? Matter of fact, I know we have a few Californian Saddo'ers on here. Has anybody been personally affected by this?
Man.... this is beyond belief. Wildfires typically burn thousands of acres of forestland and whatnot, but they don't usually claim human casualties. From what I've read and heard, these fires have made people suddenly flee from their homes, with some not even even able to escape in time. Wow... this is tragic to the Nth degree. I can't imagine the horror of not being able to flee fast enough to escape dying in flames. I imagine some of these people were forced to flee at night, not knowing with all the smoke and darkness whether they were driving away from the fires, or toward them.
I'd never heard of such a natural tragedy before, and my heart goes out to all those affected. Losing a home is bad enough... but when you have to run for your life... or you have a family member or relative and lose them to something like this..... it's gut-wrenching.
I must say... Mother Nature has been pretty angry over the past couple of years. Killer hurricanes, the usual tally of tsunamis, and now this.
