Well honestly we all know Cotto had a bad training camp going into the pac fight. No one knew what to do and the gameplan just didnt exist. Cotto didnt do too bad against pac, maybe with a better trainer and better gameplan he could improve on his last performance.

Manny Steward is more then a trainer, he's an advisor. Manny wants the best for his fighters, without putting them in a knock out situation. Cotto vs Pacman 2, should not even be discuss. But on the other hand, Cotto vs Jcc Jr instead of Martinez will be for what? A title, in which means almost nothing these days? YES history will say Cotto won a title in his fourth division but he still won't be consider the best middleweight in the world without fighting Martinez. His P4P ranking will not raise neither. I guess the money will be right!!!

Nice step up in competition for Junior. Thought he'd never take on a respectable opponent till he racked up 50 wins on his resume.

in other words he's taking the Manny Pacquiao route, gonna pick of a weak dude who has a strap, only reason i'd ok the fight is cause i'd love to see Chavez Jr get spanked, but in all honesty it's pointless and i doubt it will happen since i don't even think Jr is gonna get passed Zbik

Write down that I said Chavez Jr wins his next fight and his next and his next and gets to the top of the pfp ratings. You need to learn your trade.
And forget I said this if I'm wrong.

Any of the other champions at 154 would make for a possibe FOY candiate.
    Cotto vs . . .
    Sergei Dzinziruk
    Corneluis Bundradge
    Saul Alvarez
Any of which, IMO, would carry more weight the a Cotto vs Jcc Jr fight. But again, maybe not as much money.!

It's just odd to me because so many people were down on Martinez for wanting a fight with Cotto. The argument was Martinez was picking on smaller men. However, if Martinez goes up to 160 for a fight with Chavez Jr., that argument goes out the window. The WBC has stated that the winner of Chavez Jr./Zbik should fight Martinez. Zbik has signed on; Chavez Jr. has not. Chavez Jr. would have to relinquish his belt to fight Cotto so it wouldn't be for a belt at 160.

From what I thought, Jcc Jr is with Arum. And Arum knows ho wto get his fighter(s) to fight each other for whatever title available. Zbik signed on because, Arum is not giving him a chance to win or fight Cotto should he win. And with all the politics in boxing, do you really think if Cotto move up to 160, it won't be for a title? They just might make it for the Silver Championship(whatever that means).

Sadly, that is likely the case.

This fight must've been signed while Papa Chavez was vacationing on Mars. No way he lets his coddled baby get in with someone of Cotto's pedigree until Junior has 80-90 wins.

Cotto will force an all out war. And I don't thing daddy Chavy would want that.
