Default The most RESPECTED santioning organization?

Back in the day, the WBA belt was THEE BELT. But then the IBF came along, and the WBC before that. But now the WBA is a total joke- I mean, their champions are no names and just a pathetic org, when the WBA title holder was "typically" the lineal champion as well. The only reason to have a WBA belt is if have sentimental issues with boxing.

The WBC didn't gain real prominence until just recently- they always had sanctioning issues, dodgy rankings and useless eliminator fights.

But, the WBC has made a fantastic about turn. They ARE the organization of record. Their champions are slightly better and their mandatory match-making is a little better than most others.

The WBO has made great strides, but they are still considered the lesser of the big four- but I do have them slightly ahead of the WBA in prominence.

To me now, here is how I rate the importance of the big four:
    WBC
    IBF
    WBO/WBA

Its like picking between a turd and a bigger turd, they're all corrupt when it comes down to it. They all have numerous world champion belts in the same weight class, will gladly sanction any fuckin mismatch/defense as long as the fees are paid and their rankings are puzzles that couldn't be solved by master code breakers.

There isn't one, any given belt is only as credible as the fighters who happen to hold it. If you look at how many elite and proven champions are stripped over nothing, or not allowed to unify titles, it makes it pretty hard to put any stock in any of them.

    Respect and sanctioning bodies?

That's like putting perfume on a pig.

They are all corrupt but id say WBC is what most fighters recognize internationally. Even in Japan, fighterd want that green and gold belt.. there is a reason floyd is all about that belt too.

WBC and IBF are the most respectable.. every sanctiony body are dirty in some ways but these two organizations bring something to the table that makes up for it..

Wbc has a history and nowadays, they are the only santioning who are ordering fights to take place without getting heavily influenced by promoters and networks.. they even mandated Floyd-pacquiao not too long ago but floyd bitched out.

Ibf have been making a lot of right calls in the last few years..

Not to say these guys are perfect but they are still the top two..

Well the wba is by far the worst.

The wbc seems the belt most boxers want if that is anything to go by.

I like the IBF myself. It's the one Bernard had for so many years at mw.

The WBC orders more fights than any other organization.... the IBF is next. The IBF is the reason we are having Froch/Groves 2.

The WBC has mandated more fights in recent memory than all of the other organizations combined.

That is because they have more belts per weight class then any other Org. They also refuse in 95% of cases to allow unification or people carrying another belt other then their own should it happen. They make exceptions depending on who it is. Their history of corruption since they were formed from the rib of the WBA is second to none. Not sure why fighters seem to seek them out more then the rest. That has always puzzled me. The most corrupt Org in boxing history is the most sought after.

No org are perfect... I think we are nitpicking here..

Fighters want that green and gold WBC simply because of its prestige and the fact its the best looking belt..

Like someone already said, its like comparing dog turds. They have a history of corruption and the question was asked as to who is the "most respected" Well, naturally corruption would have to enter into it no? Its not nitpicking. its merely a fact. If fighters go for the green and gold because it looks nice then its actually worse then I thought. I guess when you are designing a belt every other month you are bound to win the fashion contest.

When they start flopping around youth, diamond, emeritous, and justmakingthisshitup "championships" , they are laughing right along with us. You can put a 'title' on a rusty golf cart too...doesn't make it roadworthy

WBC as it currently doesn't have a HW champions.

So it means no one is ducking anyone or arranging shit fights like the other HW holder.

The WBC has come a long, LONG way from the corruption of the 80's.

The least corrupt of them all is the WBO, to be quite frank. But their rankings are weak- and I'm not sure of their purse's per fight.

I think the WBC yields more money per bout. The IBF is second.

At the end of the day, if EVERYONE IN THE ORG IS CORRUPT, it's not corruption anymore- it's culture.
