I love Manny but I didn't get the fight because of the shifty undercards.
Not surprising.

Don't let Floyd find out. Then he'll change the on again off again offer to 65/35
Wow that really fucking stinks! That's less than 1/3 of the buys PBF/Maidana did. I'm glad it didn't sell well, that fight should have been free on HBO.

You would expect the numbers to be somewhat low as on paper it was a fight made for Pacquiao to look good and that alone. Algieiri is a fair fighter, but he is only a couple of fights beyond FNF's and only just squeaked out a win over Provodnikov who is also a recently stepped up FNF's fighter. It was a poor card with a weak main event whence the numbers. It takes two to tango and you shouldn't expect a main event to produce dynamic numbers with one name alone.
That fight should have never been a PPV so 300 thousand is actually a victory.
Reports are Manny vs Rios did about $450000.

Well, it was a shitty match up. Shocked they did that. Manny handed out his turkeys early this holiday season

There has never been any reason to compare Pacs PPV numbers to Floyd's. That was never close.
Looking past that unreasonable comparison I don't know how anyone could have expected over 400k(reports vary if it was just over 300 or just under 400) for such a shitty fight. Algieri is not world class. He should have a good career on FNFs if he chooses.
I just hope the don't feed another FNFs fighter like Provodnikov to him next. Or force a lightweight to move up. The numbers say make a real fight!
