Default The end of big time boxing on ITV?

Following the tragic announcement that 'Parcel Force' Harrison is to have a rematch with 'KFC' Williams, I would like to ask fellow boxing fans to join me in offering their commiserations at the impending death of big time boxing on ITV. IMO

It was nice while it lasted, but it looks as if Frank Warren, in conjunction with the spineless boxer that is Audley 'Parcel Force' Harrison will put paid to any chance of any major terrestrial network investing in boxing again!!!!!

The first Audley-Danny fight plus Khan would of been PPV on Sky

The worse way these two will ultra highlight the Cook-Harrison fight.

Scott Harrison v Nicky Cook (WBO featherweight title)
Audley Harrison v Danny Williams (Heavyweight)
Amir Khan v Rachid Drilzane (Lightweight)
    Kevin Mitchell v TBA (Super-featherweight)
Matthew Marsh v Rocky Dean (Southern area featherweight title)
    Ross Minter v TBA
    Paul McCloskey v TBA
    Eddie Corcoran v TBA

    Sorry but i fiercely dissagree..
Warren has go the balls to use ITV over Sky in the last 18 months and must be given his due because when you break it down,we haven't had it this good on terrestrial tv since the Benn/Eubank days and that is fact.
i haven't even got Sky/cable but luckily get to go to the Friday fights (sky sports) in London at close range thru this place and the other UK bouts (Froch,Woods,Witter, hatton etc) i either miss or go round a mates to watch.
And the bouts above are Quality on the whole imo

I hope the boxing stays on ITV1 & ITV4, but I fear that now they have been taken over by Michael Grade & if 'Parcel Force' Harrison stinks out the Excel again & the viewers switch off, he could pull the plug.

I think that Williams v Harrison is gonna be a good scrap.
If they throw a few combos between them then we've had a touch

Im really disappointed Skelton has had to pull out, had been looking forward to see him chase Audley around the ring.

Of course its good that a replacement has been found, given tickets have been sold to the fans, but the fact its now Audley-Danny has tarnished the card a bit in my eyes. After all, vs Skelton it was Audleys *latest* do-or-die fight, but what does winning vs Danny prove? If Williams wins, then the status quo of Audley being a laughing stock goes on, if Audley wins, then what has he proven by beating (at 2nd attempt) an average boxer with well known weight and motivational problems, who took the fight at a weeks notice? Nothing. I think it could be a real stinker!

Still, always Harrison-Cook to look forward to While im sure that will be explosive inside the ring, I worry it may well be explosive outside also, if Scots/English fans come into contact after a few sherbets (crowd trouble seems depressingly familiar at boxing these days).
