Wouldn't that be one of the most impressive achievement's in modern day boxing ?? a man who started off as a Flyweight beating a Jr Welterweight that would be unreal. Where would you rate Pacquiao in the All Time P4P Rankings if he did pull it off.

...pigs would fly...
would be very hard not to put him p4p number one, especially as he would of beaten maybe Diaz and Marquez by that time. Then to add Hatton to his record at a weight WAYYYYYY above his own would be VERY impressive by any standard. I cant see it happening myself but stranger things have happened at sea!
I've really talked myself into a total 180 over the last day or so in terms of my feelings on this fight.. First of all, IF Pac were to win, it would be a very impressive feat no doubt... BUT, the guy as far as I know, didn't have an amatuer career, and started out in the pro's. This is really misleading when people want to talk about him having fought at flyweight and thus can't possibly move up as far as 140.. For those who didn't know, Mayweather fought at 106 pounds as well, when he was an amtuer... But I'm fairly sure he was the same age as Pac was when he fought there... Thus, it is really no more impressive than Mayweather having already beaten Hatton, side for the fact that Mayweather had much more time to settle in to the weight classs.. But still, in terms of a historical sense, should Pac beat Hatton... Mayweather has already done almost exactly the same thing... The only difference is that Mayweather established himself at the weight before beating Hatton..
You Mayweather nut huggers are unrelentless.

I'm not going to pretend that this offends me or something... But really, can you give me one reason why Pac beating Hatton would be more impressive, overall, than Mayweather having already done so? I already stated that they both began their careers at 106, around the same age... Sure Mayweather has moved up much further then Pac currently, but that's because he's been chasing big money fights as a pro for longer, and very much want's to be a p4p great... There's no reason Mayweather couldn't still be fighting at 130 or lightweight if he never had a desire to move up... The real difference is that Pac didn't have the amatuer career of Floyd. Thus, he never mastered the skills to beat an opponent who is naturally larger than he is along with being nearly as skilled and talented. So basically, in terms of the immediate response from fight fans, sure Pac beating Hatton would be viewed as something amazing... But in 10 years, we'll see that Mayweather already moved up from 106 to beat Hatton badly, and that Pac simply would have done the same thing after Hatton suffered the KO loss.Originally Posted by boozeboxer
But Mayweather is already climbing the p4p all time list... the thing is, Mayweather by Pacquaio's age was fighting at 140-147 while Pacquaio is still at 130 which Mayweather last fight at that weight was 24 when he fought Jesus Chavez. The difference is he went up at least at lightweight at beat Castillo who would beat any of the current lightweights at this point in their careers with ease when he was at his best during that time period. Regardless Hatton is a good if not great fighter for this generation and if Pacquaio beats him, he definitely goes up as one of the best featherweights and superfeatherweights to ever fight. Already I think he would do well with some of the best.
Oscar De La Hoya was almost 1 stone heavier than Mayweather if i remember right. So i would say that is pretty comparable.Originally Posted by boozeboxer

Should he win he will be p4p No.1, but I can't see it happening as he has two p4p guys in Juan Diaz and JMM to face first.
