    Default Size Limit on Heavyweights?

Should there be a size limit on heavyweights because it is getting silly now with valuev he has a ridiculas advantage that would not be possible in any other division plus he cant box yet he is a top heavyweight purly because of his size alot of great champions from the past would lose to this guy because he is to big to hit not because he is better

I don't think there should be a weight limit in the heavies, but I do think the cruiserweight division should be bumped up again. Somewhere between 208 and 210 should be the cruiser weight limit. I believe there is a helluva lot of talent out there around this weight but simply because they can only get a guy who ways 220 and stand's over 6'3 anymore.

The heavyweight division is hardly exciting at the moment it was great a few years ago but it is just big slow akward fat men who cannot box now and good fighter are getting beaten because a guy has a 100lb advantage thats not fair at all i am 245lbs 5 11 and i have to try to become a cruiser now because i am to small, i mean when did 245lbs become small?

In his heyday Mike Tyson was 5'11 and fought at 216 lbs. Is there any doubt that Tyson would mop the floor with Valuev?

If we increase the weight limit for heavyweights, imagine the physiques of those fighters considering how bad they are now. Some of them don't even look like athletes, let alone boxers.

Who is going to top valuev? some guy 7 foot 7 weighing 400 pounds? the heavyweight division is a circus freak exhibition.

That's because it can be, imagine Valuev againsed the likes of Lewis, Bowe, Holmes, Foreman, Holyfield, Tyson or Tua? even Moorer, McCall, Bruno, Ruddock etc.....christ when you name all these guys you realise what the division is missing....some proper talented fighters. They would all smack that lanky fuck to next year.

I'm sick to death of these fat fuckers with piss poor footwork who can't even slip punches properly or even work off a jab, they match these guys with a KO in mind "er yeah, he hits hard, he has shit defense, should end in a KO". It's still not exiting though because most heavies are fucking shit. I can go round the back of a pub and see the same shit.

    Rant over

Why should there be another weight class?

Beyond a certain point any size advantage these guys have is outweighed by the fact it makes them slow and ponderous, with poor movement and very upright.

Guys like Wlad and Vitali and Lewis before them are the maximum height to be to take maximum advantage. Any taller and history has shown repeatedly that it becomes a liability rather thana an asset.

The division is great as it is. I already think there are far too many weight classes, 8 is plenty, I really don't want to see another one.

Imagine if Valuev could punch his weight he would hit whoever and it would be where did he go then you would hear a scream and he has landed on the car park attendant if Valuev hit hard it would be exciting to watch him.

When and IF Valuev decides to fight a REAL heavyweight he'll get his ass handed to him.

Wladimir and Vitali and any other power punchers would be tough for Valuev to beat. Valuev already lost to Ruslan Chagaev who is not a very big guy.
