“Look, this is an important fight,” Fury told The Telegraph, “but again... I hate to say it, because the boxing fans and the boxing purists and all them w*****s don’t want to hear it, but why do you think I box? For the money.
“If anybody in this building, or anybody in professional boxing, tells me they don’t do this game for money, they’re lying to you, and I speak from the heart. I do it for the dough. The bigger the deal, the better. I’m a prize-fighting pugilist specialist, that’s what I do. I fight for the prize, whether it be gold bars, gold coins, cash, transfers, cars – whatever you want to pay me, pay me in bags of sand for all I care. As long as I can make a drink on it, deal done.
“This is a good fight, [but] I’m not too concerned about what people are going to be saying in 100 years. The dust from our bones won’t exist in 100 years, never mind what they say about a boxing match in 100 years. We’ll all be dead, my kids will be dead, my wife will be dead, my dad will be dead, anybody I ever cared about will be gone.
“So, I’m going in there to get paid [...] and come back to Morecambe Bay. I probably won’t even buy anything, because I don’t need anything. I’ll do a bit of shopping, probably be tighter than I am today. I’ll do the rematch exactly the same.”
Fury and Usyk are contracted to fight again, with their rematch expected to take place in October – likely in Riyadh, where they clash on Saturday (18 May).
“I’m looking to do a demolition job on him,” Fury continued. “I just want to beat the silly sausage. Yes, Usyk is fast, talented, he outboxed a big heavyweight in Anthony Joshua twice, but ‘AJ’ is one-dimensional, one-paced, and I could outbox him with a blindfold on.
“All I can do on Saturday night is go in there, give it my best shot, and – win, lose or draw – put my best foot forward and man up.
“I’ll tickle his nuts,” Fury joked, before adding: “Seriously, I’ll do the best I can, whatever that might be.
“I’m just different. It’s because I’m charismatic, tall, controversial, good-looking, can fight, all of the above. That’s why. There’s a lack of characters in this sport today; [there’s] a lot of businessmen and cash registers, but there ain’t so many characters. I’m a dying breed in this game.”

‘You’re looking at two very good, very determined fighters, guys that have never lost,’ legendary former heavyweight Lewis told The Guardian while previewing the fight, billed as Ring of Fire.
‘We’re going to see, 18 May, who is the best in this era.’
Asked to predict ahead of next Sunday’s contest, Lewis replied: ‘I believe the bigger guy, the better guy, wins.
‘They both have good skill and Usyk has good movement, with good balance, and puts his punches together well. But he’s going up against a 6ft 9in guy and, for me, Tyson Fury is very elusive even if he is so big. If he makes you miss, he makes you pay.
‘It’s an interesting matchup but I always say if two guys have the same technical skill, the bigger fighter wins because he can force his size on the other guy.
‘It’s happened before where the smaller guy won but, in this case, Tyson Fury’s got lots of different weapons in his arsenal.
‘He has shown in the [three] fights with Deontay Wilder he is aggressive and moves forward well. Those fights really showed his skill, his talent, his ring generalship.
‘I would put money on Fury – as long as it is the 100 per cent focused Fury.’

I've gone for Fury late KO and assuming, like Lewis has said, we're getting the 100% focused version.
If we don't Usyk wins by points or Fury retires on his stool around the 10th. Then again I think an out of shape Fury would have withdrawn so maybe he'll fool us all again.
I honestly think the fight will be an awful spectacle with their styles, Usyk will have to hit and run - he isn't going to stand and fight with size difference.
Just hope it doesn't end on a cut as that outcome for a fight of this magnitude will be dogshit - but does give them a good reason for a rematch and more £££££££££££

Ive gone for Usyk via late stoppage.

john fury should be arrested for assault after headbutting one of oleksandr's team members

John Fury is an absolute prick.
Has to make it all about him. Best bit about the incident was Tysons reaction when he came through the other door and saw the blood.

It is incredibly embarrassing. Huge noise from a clearly rattled classless Fury. The sooner he disappears the better. If he had even an ounce of wit or originality then you could make a case for being entertaining and selling the fight. In reality, he just lets himself, his community, and boxing as a sport down. On top of all that he is an utter sell-out. All about the money.
You got to laugh at John Fury, he cheap shots a guy with head butt and he is the one bleeding lol.
The belligerent little-league Dad maxed out theater is getting tiresome. We're to the point that we know these soggy "Dad" twats by their first names . Fury Sr should make a comeback so he can be legally bricked and left floundering on canvas like a fish. Should definitely face a charge billy goating some random like that.
Such a shame how Tyson has fallen in popularity. Two years ago the public had finally warmed to him after he appeared to have humbled and was taking a positive stance on mental health etc.
Now the majority I know, who were fans, want him knocked out and humiliated.
Only himself to blame but then again he won't give a fuck.

Big Joe Egan has slagged off John Fury for the headbutt and call him a disgrace. Lets see if Fury SR is all talk. Its on youtube
Usyk father, Sasha, was a military man who worked as a security guard in Crimea.
Usyk Sr passed away in 2012, just days after seeing his son win Olympic gold for Ukraine.
During an emotional interview with TNT Sports, Usyk opened up on his father's death.
"He watched me become Olympic champion, but I didn't make it back in time to show him the gold medal," Usyk recalled.
"When I arrived he was already lying in the coffin.
"I handed him the medal, put it in his dead hand and then left the room.
"Sometimes he comes to me the day before the fight."
Usyk then paused as he teared up.
"Don't cry, you're a man," he said before wiping up away the tears and revealing: "Sometimes he comes the day before the fight and smiles."

Just give me a clear winner
No controversy.
Just give me a clear winner
I dunno man but I got funny business smells or something fked up happening in the fight. Be it from John Fury or Tyson. I just got a feeling their is gonna be some MASSIVE talking point. Duckson may do some illegal crap to gain an advantage (with or without points taken). Hoping for a 'fair but firm' type of ref to keep it clean.
Fury was a disgrace for ducking Usyk for so long. It's the oldest trick in the boxing book when you don't want a fight. it's called PRICING YOURSELF OUT and Fury did that by nitpicking, changing the goalpost, jerking the other side around then when they get fed up and move on. Fury can say "Look he didnt want it. They're cowards !!"
Usyk and his team's track record is impeccable. They have a reputation as being the easiest to deal with people in the whole of boxing. They're the opposite of the slimy con men Warren type.
Fury did not want the fight because despite all the talk of Usyk being a middleweight. They knew DAM WELL that Uysk would be a MASSIVE challenge for Fury. That's why Fury's eyes lit up when the suggestion of fighting the dosser for a 4th time came up or fighting an MMA fighter who had a 0-0-0 boxing record came.
I just feel that, throughout Fury's career, he's not faced and beaten enough top level fighters for me to gauge how good he really is and because of that and the recent oppositions he's faced makes me think that he won't be able deal with the jump in skills (IQ, footwork, angles and workrate) that Uysk will bring to the table. But still the hype around Fury grew in a disproportionate way compared to his achievements. The man has been holding up the HW division for the last half decade and a bit. Where as Usyk is the more proven commodity.
This is an incredibly difficult style matchup for Fury.
And fury has aged himself beyond his best years when he was taking part in less meaningful bouts. Yes Usyk is older but Usyk lives the life. My sense is that Usyk beats him, probably actually fairly comfortably. Fury couldn't outbox Wallin and Ngannou, how will he outbox the Olympic gold medallist?
I don’t think it will be an entertaining fight in fact the fight could well turn out to be a snooze fest. And I actually want Tyson to win (as do the money men in Boxing) so Usyk has to win beyond any doubt to get this. He's not gonna get ANY favours if it goes to the cards. And I think he'll do just that. This'll be a one-sided schooling worse than either Joshua fight frankly. Fury will be blowing hard by the championship rounds where Usyk will still be super-active, Usyk might even get a late TKO on accumulation and Fury being exhausted. Usyk is far more skilled than Fury and that'll show as the fight progresses.
