Yvonne please don't hate me but unfortunatley good (even half way good) heavweights from our part of the country are about as frequent as a sandstorm in Byker .
I hope this guy is as good as you say and wins the whole thing - what a boost for boxing in the North East that would be - I'll be rooting for him 110 %
'To speak with his equal and irish man is forced to talk with God...'
Now then mate good to hear some feedback on the Heavyweight K.O Tournament.I can understand your view on the subject that our Heavyweight Division prospects in the country is rather poor at this moment in time and has been for a number of years, not to mention the poor tallent scattered across the rest of world. It has to change round some how! This tournament wont be a fast fix to the problem in the ranks, but if it's supported in the right manner in the right direction then it could at least be a good solid foundation to the divison other here. It's a good idea,it can only do better carnt it??I hope DOLAN wins. He's got the tools and power to do so.
Hi there everyone!I just like to share a brief notification on the New up and coming U.K Heavyweight K.O Tournament that starts on the 11th of April.I have found out that whichever boxer wins the Tournament will win £25,000.Im hoping it'll be David Dolan, due to him having a good record as well as being from the north-east,which i'am from too!Dont forget U.K boxing fans that the Tournament is live from the famous York Hall down in London and it's also live on Sky Sports1 from 9pm.It should be interesting.Enjoy!
for those of you interested here is the list of boxers fighting in the Heavyweight compertition at York hall April 11th should be a good night I'll be there if anyone want's to buy me a pint or three
billy bessey
colin kenna
martin rogan
dave ferguson
david dolan
paul butlin
alex ibbs
darren morgan
the reserves are
derek chisora
david ingleby
I saw Colin Kenna box in Ireland before....
Not keen on seeing him again

And as for Chisora!
I saw him "box" Tony Booth, barely scraping a four rounds points victory.
Booth can't even be classd as a journeyman!

Don't get me started on Chisora. I saw Darren Morgan fight him in a 4 rounder and according to the ref he won every round. Truth be told, Morgan won the last round and knocked him down in the 3rd as his gloves touched the floor, and the ref just ignored it. In short, Morgan was robbed...and he really sucks.
Cheers for naming the fighters for the new U.K HEAVYWEIGHT K.O TOURNAMENT.I wish i was able to be there,i would of got yer a pint mate but unfortunately i cant make the journey, but i'll be watching it live on sky.Look out for David Dolan from Sunderland(Stabled in HARTLEPOOL)i think he'll have a good chance on winning the Tournament outright.Im so confident that im planning on backing him at the bookmakers shortly. It should be a good contest and i cant wait to watch it.Have you got a idea who will win?
Chisera is pretty garbage.
He's an undersized heavy, but Mike Perez (the Irish Cuban) is the same height and he's better efter his third fight, he's doing 6 and eight rounders already

Thanks for the rep Yvonne,Going on record only for experience Kenna should skate it but there are a couple of good boys in there I think a lot will depend on the draw I can see david Dolan & possiblyPaul butlin doing well. How will the lads with less experience handle the pressure of the York Hall it really does get jumping in there & I hear it's a sellout I can't wait
Billy Bessey just told me that the draw (names out of a hat) is taking place on Soccer A.M on a week on Saturday.
No problem mate!Im having a bet on Dolan at the bookmakers tomorrow.I wish i could be there like but i'll be watching it on t.v instead and cheering me local man!Should be an awesome atmosphere in the famous YORK HALL as usual!
Aright they Rob!Cheers for the top draw information on the draw out of the U.K Heavyweight K.O Tournament mate. That should be really interesting to see who gets who.Who do you fancy to win?Any tips?Im having a flutter!
Good morning U.K boxing fans!I want you's to know that Barry Hearn and 8 of the british Heavyweight boxers for the new "PRIZEFIGHTER"tournament that starts next friday night on the 11th of april will be discussing the Tournament in more detail. There's a live draw out to see which boxer will be fighting who,as well as each of them testing they power by punching a punch-power machine to find out who has the most powerful punch throughout the competition and it's all on this mornings SOCCER A.M LIVE on SkyOne.Should be interesting to hear!My money is on me local boxer David Dolan from Hartlepool. He's 3/1 to win the tournament.Keep tuned in and enjoy!
