Yeah. I think those are really simple recipes and very straight forward instructions. I can handle that, no sweat.

    Thanks bro.

Also for coming down in weight

    5 cups small broccoli florets
    1 1/2 cups (1/4-inch) diagonally sliced carrot
1/2 cup peeled, chopped broccoli stems
    2 tablespoons canola oil
1 1/2 cups sliced green onions
1 tablespoon grated peeled fresh ginger
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    1 cup snow peas, trimmed
1 (14-ounce) can whole baby corn, drained
1 (8-ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
    1/2 cup vegetable broth
    1 tablespoon cornstarch
    1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups hot cooked short-grain rice

    Preparation

Combine first 5 ingredients, tossing to coat; cover and marinate in refrigerator 1 hour. Drain in a colander over a bowl, reserving marinade.Cook broccoli florets, carrot, and broccoli stems in boiling water 1 1/2 minutes; drain. Plunge into ice water. Drain.
Heat canola oil in a wok or large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add tofu; stir-fry 5 minutes or until lightly browned on all sides. Stir in onions, ginger, and garlic; stir-fry 30 seconds. Stir in broccoli mixture, snow peas, corn, and water chestnuts; stir-fry 1 minute. Combine broth and cornstarch, stirring with a whisk. Add cornstarch mixture, reserved marinade, and salt to pan; bring to a boil. Cook 2 1/2 minutes or until slightly thick, stirring constantly. Serve over rice.

I like food, but I dont want to become an average American tub of goo
    Alternative=learn to cook
Most of the crap Americans put in to our body shouldnt be fed to a dog,at gunpoint.
Thats why I wanted to start this thread, its hard enough keeping weight, you shouldnt eat total crud or rice cakes the entire time. Its the second time its come up recently, and I couldnt think of anything more helpful to do then give younger fighters an idea that you could eat well, but eat smart
To maintain what I consider my fighting weight,I have to constantly dicker with my diet, but I dont want to be eating straw from a trough either

Sure thing TM. Let there be light.

Anyways here lays the hidden recipes cut and pasted from the well guarded scrolls of a 5,000 year old gourmet master:

    Enter the Oatmeal
    1. Throw in your chosen amount of old fashioned or quick oats (not the instant garbage).
    2. Cook for 5 minutes (or longer if you like snot...).
    3. Add your choice of fruit (frozen works well to cool it down.).
-e.g. strawberries, cherries, mangos, kiwi, avocado, bananas, kumquats, you name it.
    4. Add your choice of flavoring.
-e.g. honey, real vanilla extract, choco, cinnamin, spices, almond extract, toe nail clippings, old coffee grinds, blood from 1 year old goat, etc...
    5. Top it off with a cup immense gratitude and skim milk if you so desire. You may also add cassein protein to get ready for the long day ahead.

Note: It's always a good idea to use natural sweeteners apart from sugar, such as fruits and/or honey.

Elixer of Zeus (aka Protein Shake)
    1. First off, throw in your choice of fruit. This should be done first to allow the blender to do its work without spinning its wheels.
    2. Add liquid. (e.g. skim milk, fruit/vegetable juices, anti-freeze, love juices, etc.)
    3. Add your choice of protein. (e.g. whey, cassein, powdered milk, crunchy peanut butter, buffalo chunks, etc.)
    4. Add your choice of flavoring. (see 'Enter the Oatmeal', example #4)
    5. Add some crushed ice.
    6. Press the WerRrRrrRRrrr button.
    7. Thank Zeus for such a glorious meal and enjoy.

    Take that Betty Crocker!

    Your a mensch Chris(thats a good thing)

    Coming up in weight

    My stew

Pound and a half of beef cubed
4 Potatoes also cubed,(skin left on)
    Just regular mixed veggies
    3 packets of brown gravy
    Onion chips
    Jambalaya seasoning
    salt to taste
    garlic powder to taste
    a pinch of pepper
    1 bay leaf

Simple as pie,in a large pot combine your potatoes, and your beef in a largish pot, cover them with water almost to the top, start them cooking. Toss in dehydrated onions to your own taste
Go somewhere else for awhile, though occaisionaly come back to stir
When you have a hard time seeing anything but brown in the meat add your first pack of brown grave by whisking it in,also add the salt and garlic powder now.
    Go somewhere else again
Give it a bit more time add your bay leaf, and whisk in your second pack of brown gravy
Add your mixed veggies, this will cool things down so give it a bit more time to get up to boiling and add your final brown gravy packet
Now add a little jambalaya seasoning(this doesnt take much) leave the kitchen for a minute as it causes sneazing fits
Now mix it all together, and simmer and stir until its tender
Not only does that put some meat on your bones, you'll have leftovers, saving you from having to cook for a bit

Remember, real men eat their tofu raw-- and perhaps with habanero peppers to wash down the intense joy.

BTW, does anyone have any unique recipes for a damn good salad?

Back in the states I'd just eat a couple leaves of romaine lettuce, with tomatoes, some olive oil, half a squeezed lemon, garbanzo beans, some fruit, and special sauce to top it off.

When eating with my dad's european friend, I came to realize that you don't even need lettuce at all. His russian wife considered lettuce rabbit food. Going for unique you can go overkill with the tomatoes, substitute some other kind of leafy greens, and with all the flavorings out there you have a lot of different ways to go. What would your salad of pure awesomeness be like?

Feur tends to eat hers,a bit of romaine,a bit of iceberg, with mandarin orange and appelsauce
I try to avoid salad, because when I put one together, you can hear the lettuce screaming for air because their so buried by meat and cheese

    I like it.

I'll also have to mention the bit about the apple sauce to my dad. You see my dad has trouble getting my little sister to eat a salad, so the apple sauce along with some other cut up fruits might change her disposition. Do you have any other ideas on how to get a stubborn mac-n-cheese eating kid to eat healthy?

On another note, what kind of seasoning, or flavors would you add to a salad to give it an extra zing? (assuming you're not going to burry the veggies under a meat and dairy factory) There's some veggies with a strong flavor of its own.

Depends on your dressing, but if your doing an Italian,Id put in a little bit of onion,a little bit of oregeno, and I want to stress this A LITTLE BIT of grated Parmesan cheese, and a couple of cherry tomatoes
Mix the onion, and tomatoes in,sprinkle the salad with the oregeno and parmesan, and then pour your dressing over it

Another nice cheat that almost beats even having dressing, take a can of tuna drain the bloody heck out of it,mix it with some low fat mayo(light on the mayo),and just mix your salad in to it. High on protien as well
