Anyone hear what is the latest on David Tua?
Anyone hear what is the latest on David Tua?
I heard he's fighting in odessa, ukraine july 12th and the opponent will be named in the next week or so?
according to boxrec he's got a match coming up against the ever dangerous ? on 2008-07-12.
lol what does ever dangerous imply
the article state arreola and whitherspoon will fight and the winner will take on Tua at MSG in the fall?
and the winner of that fight will get a title shot!
its about time!
I am not sure what David Tua is even doing in the sport anymore. I used to be a big fan but he has been so inconsistent with his schedule that every time I would get hyped up about him coming back he would vanish as quickly.
(I really do not count stay busy fights as being in the mix.)
Tua had the perfect opportunity to make a strong comeback right after Vitaly left the sport. The heavyweight division was wide open and Tua was part of the elite before the Sultan's, Chagaev's and Valuev's started to appear.
yes i feel what you are saying being a huge tua fan myself, but much of his problems were due to his poor shady management and financial as well as legal burdens that hindered his over all game plan. he has been getting his weight down atleast and taking his road work and training rather seriously for his last couple of fights.
he will always go down as one of those fighters who could of done so much damage in his prime, just as ike and such would
I'd like to see him in against the Witherspoon/ Arreola winner, with Tua's power either fight is winnable & would put him right back in position to contend again or at least get another couple of big paydays against top 10 opposition.

Audley Harrison could lay you out when he is 60, it doesn't mean he is relevant?

The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
The Heavyweight division has been weak as hell for quite awhile when Tua should have been making fights. in the meantime, he has gotten nothing but older and not any closer to getting a fight IBO.
Tua is done, hell last summer he was fighting in Utah.
