That tko could have happened 5 rounds ago.... anyway, that was a beautifully fought fight by Canelo and the kid totally outclassed his competition. Granted, his competition couldn't have fought that fight any worse

strong ring dominance throughout the fight, very mature performance from alvarez. Rhodes just couldnt keep up with the pace set all night by Alvarez. He didnt have anything to trouble Alvarez.

I don't know about the stoppage, but whatever, Rhodes had no chance anyway.

Good performance by Canelo, I believe there's a lot more talent there than what Chavez Jr. brings.

Outstanding performance by Alvarez. Beat on this so-called tough opponent who was suppose to present a danger all night and than closes the show

I thought Rhodes would get battered but I thought he'd get battered trying to win. I cant believe I stayed up for that, I thought Rhodes would have his moments but the most agressive thing he did all night was refuse to wear the Corona cap
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Ok time to step up, no more of this weak competition.. This better not be Golden Boys JCCjr.. This kid has the potential to wipe out anyone from 147-154 including PAC and Mayweather..

I think he has slight stamina issues but by getting rounds he can make pace in long run

It was mismatch from the get go, some good work for Alvarez however, and another 'W' on his resume.

im still shocked at just how calm and how well he dominated the fight throughout. This is the first fight of his i've seen, does he always box like this?? I know some people consider these types as boring but i love watching a solid technical fight. I'm very curious to see if he can keep such composure with a pressure fighter. Anyway, as stated before, he fought a brilliant fight. Also, i like how he didnt let the crowd pressure him into making stupid mistakes.

Vanes Martirosyan is his mandatory I believe. He's undefeated and better than Rhodes. Gets smashed as well

Not seen Rhodes before and not bothered if I don't see him again, Matty Hatton landed more shots on Alarez than Rhodes just didn't have near enough power.
Alvarez is definitely one to watch but I don't think he's ready for Pac or Floyd yet, I'll reserve judgement until I see how he takes shots from another heavy hitter.

I hope Alvarez can fight Angulo in the near future, I think that would be a defining fight for the young man. He has some much potential for a 20 year old, his performance was so dominant. He brings a lot to the table at 154 imo, and he should be matched with the best. I do however think that at 20 is it too early to put him in against the best of the world? But with a record like his and with the experience that he is getting with these wins it makes me feel that he would be able to beat the best. What are his options from this fight now?

I dont know if id go that far, i mean mayweather and pac are completely different fighters then either of those two. This kid def shows great potential but let him get some quality wins under his belt before he even thinks of fighting those two. Remember what happened to Vargas when he was moved up to fight Vargas before he was ready?
