Both at their best at 147ibs, perhaps Benitez fustrates Tito on way to UD? What do you think?

hard choice cos tito was da bomb in his prime
benitez was a solid boxer and a defensive wizard. benitez with MD
"Very few people really understand what it means to be a fighter. I hate it when I hear someone say, 'That fighter doesn't have guts. I hate that, I don't care if you're a world champion six times over or a four-round fighter, to step inside that ring, you have to have guts" Oscar De La Hoya
Benitez was superb at 140 and 154, but at 147, I would have to take Trinidad, in a come from behind performance; TKO14.
where is tito,is he ever gonna fight again?
If Tito was wearing his loaded gloves i would have to pick him by KO, ask Joppy's opinion.
let's discuss in detail.
"If there's a better chin in the world than Pryor's, it has to be on Mount Rushmore." -Pat Putnam.
Tito would win being too powerful for Benitez but think he would see it for the final bell.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
After all these years, I feel Tito is still a little overrated. I recall the word "unbeatable" being bandied around b/f his Hopkins fight, which was ridiculous considering ODLH already exposed him by that point.
Basically, a good boxer--ie, one who backpedals, counterpunches, and uses a lot of movement--who also packs a little punch could relatively easily defang the myopic tito. Perhaps victories against aging backpedllers like pernell and Camacho made us think otherwise, but tito was always a straightforward, somewhat crude fighter. Roberto Duran would not just follow you around the ring (see Leonard II, as he stands in the middle of the ring refusing to play Leonards game….the real reason he quit if you watch the fight was because SRL was outpunching him during the close exchanges, not because he was keeping a distance).
Hopkins, winky, and odlh demonstrated to me that tito had no answer for an intelligent boxer in his prime . whether benetez is that person, I haven’t the slightest, but if he he fits the mold i wouldn’t bet against him.
I pick benitez by ud, although a great fighter, I think Tito was a little one dimensional for a fighter like benitez. Could be wrong tho.
Would of been a great fight
Woulda been a classic matchup between two all-time Puerto Rican world champion greats. Tito and his straight ahead style and big bombs, vs. Benitez's defensive wizardry. It's a hard pick, but in their primes, Tito would probably do enough to catch Benitez at some point during the later rounds. I'd pick Tito in about 6 fights out of 10 against the defensive genius Benitez.
