Cool Name two "Tour de force" fights

At least one dictionary defines "Tour de force" as "an exceptional achievement by an artist, author, or the like, that is unlikely to be equaled by that person or anyone else." as "an exceptional achievement by an artist, author, or the like, that is unlikely to be equaled by that person or anyone else."

Can you name two (and only two) fights (per post) that meet this definition?

    1) I'll start with Benn's performance vs Gman

    2) Buster Douglasl's performance vs. Tyson

The 1st one that came to mind was Tyson/Douglas; so I'll have to think about another one.

#2 would be Bob Foster knocking out Dick Tiger; I forget but I believe Foster is the only one to knock out Tiger.

Even though I have my reservations about the fight; I'll go out on a limb and say Hatton beating KT; making him quit. He wasn't picked to win that fight and it shook up things in the game.

Not sure on definition particulars but I'd say Foreman over Frazier.Domination that Frazier never had put on him again...not that brutal Hearns over Duran or Holyfield over Tyson ??

    Yeah Foreman/Frazier. Also Ali/Liston I I'd think.

Louis over Schmeling in their rematch.

Archie Moore's comeback over Yvon Durelle in their first fight.

Yeah.Ali/Liston 1....Ali put it on him hard. What were the odds going into that one

Shoot Frankie Randall vs.Chavez 1.In my opinion that was a bluprint

Ok what about our boy Michael Carbajal in his attempt to unify belts against Humberto Gonzales? Knocked down a couple of times only to floor Gonzo for good?

Yeah your right .love everything about that fight.Raw intensity and emotion from jump off.Alot of history in that one...Michael fought macho and had his azz handed too him early on and then that electrifying KO.Great, great fight!!!

Have to give the Tour de force to Gonzalez maybe though ??He really boxed smart and refused to engage Michael too much in rematch....was cut to shreds but kept it together, smart.

In a way Moslet/Margarito; I didn't think I'd see Tony get beat up and stopped like that; and not by Mosley.

PBF with his 5 knockdowns highlighting his pinpoint accuracy over then undefeated Diego Corrales (I know it's popular to bag on PBF nowadays, but that was a hell of a showing.)

Juan Diaz Over Popo Freitas AND Ricky Hatton Over Kostya Tszyu
both unification bouts making their opponents quit on their stools and fall into retirement from sheer aggression.

Roy Jones Jr. for not having any punches landed against him in round 5 against wild swinger Vinny PAZ.

    Pacquiao for absolutely flattening Hatton.

    Ali's rope-a-dope against Foreman.

    sorry more than two.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

    1. Hagler-Hearns. Everyone knows about this fight.
    2. Hagler-Mugabi. Mugabi was undefeated with all of his wins coming by knockout. And we all know what Marvin did in the 11th.
